This is algo a must place to visit while in Chile, the name comes after the service has to be quick, el rápido, they serve variety of food but I recommend trying our Chileans empanadas de Pino (fried onion, beef, olive and a piece of boiled egg) and Barros Luco (beef and cheese), try it adding Pebre and then you tell me how was it. 5/5 as it has never disappointed me, also here is Carlos that works for years now there, very gentle and passionate with his job, ask for him.

Había dejado de ir hace años a "El Rápido" y visitando el centro de Santiago y despertando mi curiosidad volví a pasar a disfrutar de unas empanadas de queso. Que se hecha de menos. El pedido a grito limpio de los Viejitos cuando hacías tu pedido. Antes había que esperar algunos minutos porque la preparación era en el momento, hoy hay hornos de calor que mantienen la temperatura de las empanadas y se perdió también esa tradición. Con suerte hay un par de Viejitos que atendieron siempre. Pasando a las empanadas,estaban buenas, mi impresión un poco mas chicas que las que comí en el pasado, pero la calidad era buena. Precio de mercado para las empanadas, no recuerdo el valor exacto, pero el valor total estaba dentro de lo habitual en locales "picada" en el centro. La entrega hoy es mas rápido por los hornos que mantienen las empanadas calientes y con mayor volúmen de stock. El local es limpio a pesar de su antigüedad y en general en buen estado. Recomendable???, si, para quienes necesitan un consumo rápido. Baños limpios de nivel normal.

Visité el local hoy jueves tipo 12. Era mi primera vez visitándolo, pasé con mis compañeros de universidad después de visitar el Palacio y la verdad me sorprendió bastante. Mi profesora nos había comentado que era bueno y no mintió. El nombre le hace justicia, en lo que acomodamos un par de mesas para sentarnos todos, nos tomaron el pedido y en menos de un minuto nos sirvieron las empanadas. Yo pedí una de queso, estaba bastante buena. La masa era crujiente y traía bastante relleno. Perfecta para matar el hambre. Los meseros fueron amables y nos ayudaron con las mesas. No me gustó que el baño fuera pagado y me sentí un poco insegura porque pasaba mucha gente por afuera, pero en general tuve una buena experiencia. Definitivamente recomendaría a todos pasar a comer una empanadita de queso. Dejo unas fotos abajo, para que tengan una referencia. Tenía tanta hambre que no me aguanté darle un mordisco jajajaja.

Where : El rapido – Santiago - Chile Title: Fast and cheap way to try the delicious empanadas

We got to El Rapido per indication of our Guide from “Free Walking Tour”. It’s located in Santiago downtown and the name really corresponds for the service provided. You order and get your empanadas really fast and in a good price since it’s more locals that usually go there. The lunchtime is a little crazy, you will need to put yourself in the middle of everyone that is already waiting to order. It was a nice local experience and the empanadas are good.

Hands down the best empanadas in all of Chile. I'd even go so far as to say South America! The empanadas are amazing and the service and entertainment is even better! We went on the first day we had in Santiago and went back three weeks later towards the end of our in Chile and they remembered us (possibly due to our horrendous lack of Spanish) and greeted us warmly. Definitely must go there while...
