Japanese food modified for Chile from the original Japanese recipe. Specialty on sushi tempura, sashimi and non-fried sushi. According to my taste highlights the Miso soup, and the use of fresh ingredients such as tofu, avocado, salmon and sometimes there is tuna (not always). It is important to mention regarding the shrimp they remove their stomach and in the juices (which They are made of fresh fruit) I prefer lemonade with mint leaves and ginger and sugar on the border of coup. The owner is Japanese and is present in the restaurant. This is 1 of the 2 Locals in Santiago that I recommend to eat Japanese food. Highlights speed, order, hygiene and is one of the places where I never get sick due to the food. I am very demanding with the food and hygiene habits and I recommend this place.
Read moreRatings are location adjusted. The salmon was fresh and good, but the sashimi was better than the nigiri because of the rice not being top notch. The maguro was dry and not flavorful, but also didn't smell so probably ok to eat - just not exciting. The rainbow roll was made with krab and the unagi was ok but not great.
The good news is that this is closer to a real sushi restaurant than many others I've found outside of Japan or the US. They only had salmon and tuna, but did have a wide variety of rolls if that's what you are looking for.
This restaurant would be 2 stars in Japan and maybe 3 in the US, but that said, there's nothing really wrong with it. It's relatively inexpensive compared to higher-end restaurants, so the price is fair for the quality. I probably won't eat here again, but not because I would...
Read moreWe ate Sashimi at this restaurant recently when we visited Santiago. The owner was extremely friendly and generous to us. We ordered tuna and salmon, fresh and delicious. The owner also generously gave us a big portion of other kind of fish as gift. The service was excellent. Since we loved the food and service so much, we went back next day prior to our return to the US. This time not only had extra sashimi as gift to us, we were surprised to receive a plat of fresh watermelon as a goodbye gift from the owner. This restaurant provides excellent food with good price and service that will really exceed your expectations; the friendly atmosphere is even better to make you enjoy more on the delicious food. We strongly recommend this...
