What a fantastic hidden gem! A great unpretentious restaurant inside the famous Central Market where to enjoy great fish and seafood dishes. If you are looking for an elegant, romantic restaurant, this is not the place for you. But if you want an authentic atmosphere full of locals in a friendly casual environment, Tio Lucho is perfect. Upon sitting down you are offered a shot of the classic Pisco Sour drink (but I recommend getting a full glass, as it is really nice) and a very tasty complimentary small bowl of fish soup. Reading the menu, you might be disappointed, as the prices seem higher than the type of restaurant should commend, but then the portions are huge, some truly gargantuan and ideal to share. Every dish we had was a hit, from the Locos (Chilean Abalone) to the shrimps, to the clams, to the traditional Chupe de jaiba (stone crab) to the cod and other fish, each one better than the next. Highly...
Read moreDo not get the crab for one person. They said it was fresh; they said the only difference is that there is no shell as you would get if you order the whole crab. It came out fried and drenched in sauce so you know they gave me old crab. They lied to me because I did ask (before ordering) if it was fresh. If it's so fresh why would they put sauce and fry it? Do they think people want to eat crab this way? Do they think it tastes better like this? If they do, they do not know seafood. They charged 24,990 peso for this ($30 US) Disgraceful. All these restaurants are ripoffs for tourists at...

To my taste i would recommend the -Mariscal special which is cool plate consisting in an assorted bunch of molluscs and sea weed. -Pastel de jaiba (crab tart savoury) -Reineta fish or Corvina and the boiling hot soup Paila marina. Gentle and fraternal close...
