Need to give this place a five stars both in terms of food and service. Though the restaurant charged high price, our meal was around HKD 9,000 for the food for eight pax plus three bottles of wine.
The food
Suckling pig - The biggest and the best suckling pig I ever had in my life. Skin and meat were perfectly separated for serving. It was so crispy but not to hard or overcooked. After you finished the skin, they will chop the remaining parts to serve you, plenty of meats and skins. It was so good. Yea, it was expensive, the whole suckling pig costs HKD 2,000 but I personally think it’s worth it.
Grilled fresh water eel - texture was so tendered and the outside and the skin was crispy and also very tasty. A little salty from soy sauce and then glazed with honey made it a perfect mix.
Braised beef with turnip - simply so good
The above are the best dishes we had that night but other dishes were very good also.
The service
The restaurant was only half full so the food was really quick. Kudos to the staff who attended to us. He’s so attentive and made very good recommendations. Wine suggestions to pair with out food and even demonstrated how we should eat each particular dish. Gotta give him five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P.S. my first visit was back in January 2019 during lunch time on a Sunday. The place was pretty packed and I remembered that foods weren’t this great, especially the...

That is how I would describe the dishes at Seventh Son with special highlight being the sucking pig. The aromatic crispy skin and the tender and savory meat leaves you wonder what else have you missed all these times. We only had half the portion, so the full portion is much bigger.
The dim sum here would be the epitome of Cantonese dim sum — basic dishes that are wonderfully executed. Every dish contained the materials and ingredients that packed a punch. Crispy chicken’ skin was so crunchy and tasty. Each har gow contained one tasty shrimp. Ham Sui Kok looks ordinary but the taste is just right. Each dish’s portion was big and generous.
The mango pudding was the only thing that seemed ordinary here. I don’t recommend it unless you have a craving for mango.
The service personnel at our table was quick-witted and took a good care of us. She told us that this was only her second month working here, but she truly knew the menu and catered to our needs.
The price is expensive but worth the quality you get. If I visit Hong Kong again, this would be my go-to places for...
Read moreOur party of 9 from Vancouver, Canada, was here in August 25, 2025 for dinner, attracted by the Michelin star and positive reviews. Overall, the experience was a disappointment. Although the food quality was good, it was not as exceptional as one might expect given the price point - there are many restaurants in Vancouver that could match Seventh Son at a fraction of the price. However, the real disappointment was in the level of service. The pace of the meal service was glacially slow, with at one point a gap of nearly an hour between courses. A well paced 3-hour banquet can be a joy but a 3-hour dinner consisting of 2 hurried courses followed by an hour’s gap before the rest of the courses arrive en masse betrays a lack of logistical skill on the part of the front staff, the kitchen, or both. This was an issue not only for our table but for others as well - one could read the irritation on the faces of the other diners. Moreover, trying to get the attention of the service captain was an exercise in sheer frustration. If you are willing to spend $600HKD per person on dinner, there are many other places to go. Would...
