Extremely delicious and welcoming service!
To start of, they provided a complementary papad which was a crispy thin cracker with a sweet and spicy sauce served.
By the recommendation of the waitress we ordered a pani puri which is like a crispy outer ball with delicious stuffings!
Pani puri It's a pocket of surprise, we had some indian food before, but this was the first time we tried this food! It's baked potato with herbs and curry sauce inside a thin crispy bowl made of crackers! It really blew our minds 🤯 It was served with mango and mint sauce which we had to pour via the hole at the top to give it a distinctive sweet or minty/ spicy taste depending on your preference.
Tandoori Chicken The tandoori chicken cooked to 👌🏻 at first we thought it's gonna be dry, but it was not dry at all! The sauce on the outside really brings out and brightens the flavor of chicken, the herbs penetrated well to the bones 🤤 it was really juicy and flavorful!
Stuffed kulcha I was confused about what the difference with naan was and after trying it I think it’s just the texture haha! It's was really a new and enjoyable experience as it was stuffed with both cheese and garlic. It was so good that I didn’t need any curry sauce or meat to eat that with 🤣
Pistachio Kaffi This ice cream is harder and also sweeter than conventional ice cream, almost like condensed milk. It was quite hard to cut, but once you put it in your mouth it just melts! 😍 you can really get the pistachio nut and flavour throughout every bite of...
Read moreThe decor was all checks. And then their clean designed hammered copper serve-ware made me happy.
I was particularly craving chaat. They had plenty of it, just that they did it so differently that left me quite surprised.
The vegetarian options for the buffet that I opted for included a saag, malai kofta, dal tadka, a little patty (paneer, potatoes), biryani.
Taste-wise, nothing stood out. And the fact that it was cold (not refrigerator cold but colder than room temperature) was very, very disappointing. Though when the manager came to check in, I told him that and he offered to warm anything I wanted, I politely refused because I wasn’t keen by then.
The garlic naan was good, soft, thin and garlicky enough.
I went back to the chaat.
The husband got a garlic naan as well and he didn’t like it as much, strangely. He said that his didn’t have enough garlic. And his paneer tikka masala was more like paneer butter masala, much sweeter. Korma sweet. He wasn’t happy.

Read moreAfter having had dinner here in Wan Chai for at least 10 times in the past 6 months, I can say that JoJo deserves 5 stars, thanks to continuously efficient and friendly service as well as great food. Indian friends recommended JoJo as well, and they are very picky when it comes to food.
Although the entrance of the building looks a bit worn, the restaurant as such has a fairly spacious, warm and welcoming ambience with huge windows and typical contemporary indian videos and music playing. Staff is always alert and will help you with recommendations if you are undecided that to chose. Servings have a good size, but of course : the flavor is fantastic. No matter if you go for a samosa chaat, Saag based dishes or the classic butter chicken or chicken tikka masala, you will have a mouthful of flavor. You can taste that they use high quality ingredients, e.g. meat is always tender and the amount of herbs and spices they use tell you that they don't cut corners. Naan is always fresh and has this nice crispy bottom while soft on top. Important thing : Washrooms are clean as well, so i assume the overall hygiene standards are pretty good. From a pricing perspective, we think it is good value for money.
We have been loving this place, and i am already looking forward to...
