Had two occasions to dine in this new modern fancy waffle cafe and restaurant. We had a party of 4-6 each time . We were not ordering a coffee or signature drink and set there the whole day playing computer. Each visit we ordered a main course and drink each time the bills average 150-180 per head. We inquired specifically how to get the 20 dollars discount per 100 dollars spent. The staffs there gave wrong directions and didn’t indicate that we needed to sit separately as if we don’t know each other to enjoy the discount coupon. We were actually already sitting on separate tables due to social distancing ordinance from the government of no more than 2 individuals gathering. With acrylic sneeze/cough shield between our tables .
So drinks were average standard one can get from any cafe , the food was alright albeit a bit pricy. Well you pay for ambient environment and renovation . Fair enough
The first time we ended up with no one can use the coupons because we were charged on one single bill, plus the cashier forgot to calculate only one 20 dollars use when I was charged on my credit card . So no discount for dinning over 500 dollars .
The second time we patronised here and we asked specifically we would like to use the coupons and the lady manger acknowledged it and we were told we could use as long as the two other patrons registered and use their names to be the client, because the coupons I registered as the client the first time has expired. So two of us registered and were prepared to use the coupons. Once again after we ordered our main course finished dining and prepared to pay the over 500 bills. This time fortunately at least one coupon could be used . But then we inquired how about the second one ? Their reply was because they charged under one bill so no way we can redeem the discount. Then we asked why couldn’t it be split into two bills so we could we two of the coupons. The lady manager said they cannot. Well done !
The coupons systems were arbitrary, customers would inevitably have the feeling of...
Read moreI had a grilled salmon scramble with a drink here this evening. The grilled salmon arrived undercooked. Part of the scrambled egg was overcooked and part of it was watery. Waffles were dry and was hard to eat without any syrup. I was most concerned about the fish - it didn't look safe to be consumed. I asked if we could have it switched to smoked salmon instead and was told the price difference will be applied regardless, so we were stuck with reheating the fish. I was surprised how it was still fairy raw and cold when the kitchen returned the fish. At this point, I was more concerned about food safety and couldn't care less about the price difference. Restaurant ended up offering smoked salmon anyway but the quality was disappointing. After the reheating attempts the rest of the dish got cold. Left the restaurant unsatisfied and worried about getting salmonella.
To sum up the experience, food quality was subpar and their front of house staff lack experience in customer service. The meal was $187 and there are definitely better options in the area. Will not...
Read moreNever coming back again! Staff leaded me to sit aside outdoor, also told me that can choose to sit indoor a bit if it’s too cold or too hot, which I think she was really nice. Then i ordered chicken waffle and a smoothie. First, the smoothie was so so, I could only taste beet root and ginger, the menu had mentioned there was pineapple there, but I couldn’t taste any sweetness at all. Here’s come the big boss, THE WAFFLE! It was completely a disaster. After each bite, I had to drink a sip of water to rehydrate my mouth, coz the chicken was dry af, it soaked up all my drool, and there was no any syrup to dressing, also the liege was dry. I felt myself was in the desert at that moment! I told the staff about the problem, she claimed that it was because chicken breast came easy to dry when cooking. I just can’t accept the excuse, and way to expensive to have bad experience, therefore I won’t come back again and don’t...
