Elephant Grounds (Fashion Walk) — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Looks inviting from the outside but once you get in it’s a different setting. The staff speak gruffly and almost yell at you. Also rude - I was at my table looking at the menu and a boy came by and refilled water for all of the other tables but didn’t bother to bring me or offer any - because I hadn’t ordered yet? - not exactly hospitality. Even then, no one came to offer to take my order for some time.

About an hour before closing they come by to take payment in a very chaotic way like they are trying to make sure you feel rushed or hurried in some way by their demeanor and attitude - speaking quickly, looking away talking like they got other stuff to do so hurrr up and pay - it was like the boy was TRYING to be rude and show contempt and didn’t even say thank you but rudely snatched the payment machine as quick as he could once the payment was accepted. Not sure why he even works there if he clearly is so miserable 🤷🏻‍♀️

They def want to close by 9 on the dot so try to shoo customers out before this time and do so with an unpleasant look on their faces… miserable place all around esp with the unhappy people working there - and music too loud; seats too hard and straight - highly uncomfortable. It’s like everything about this place hates customers and wants to make it as unpleasant as possible. Maybe outdoor seating is different but staff...

Visited this place for brunch on a busy Saturday morning. Queue of people outside, took about 15min to find us a table. No big deal.

Once seated I noticed that even though the entire restaurant was full, there was only one single waitress on duty, and she was clearly having a hard time.

Gave her about 10min before getting up from my seat and flagging her down... Ordered an Orange juice and a chai tea latte and the eggs Benedict. The Benedict comes with smoked salmon, asked if I could switch this out for the more traditional ham/bacon but they said no, even though they had done this before at a different location. Food arrived and was finished before our drinks arrived.

Finally managed to get the bill and paid.

WORST of all though was as we were walking out the manager grabbed my friend by the arm and aggressively asked him 'Hey, have you paid your bill?' I mean seriously!? How rude!!

TLDR, won't be going back to this place anytime soon....

I recently visited here for dinner. It’s founded in 2013 specialising in coffee. The atmosphere is very nice and is not overly crowded. It has a lot of food options from toast, salad, rice bowls and snacks. I would love to try their coffee next time. Unfortunately, I’m not satisfied with the service since they always turn their backs on the customers and it takes a long time to get their attention.

Everything is delicious! My favourite would be the salmon don since I love salmon (might be biased). It’s not too heavy in dressing and I incorporating vegetables when I’m eating out.
