📍Cheuca @Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
🖤好食 (quality):😋😋😋😋😋 🤍環境 (environment): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🤎服務 (service): 💗💗💗💗💗 Must try brunch spot for a date/hangout in Sheung Wan!! 🔥Cheuca serves authentic Spanish food 🥘 and they got many yummy options on their menu! They now have a brunch menu for $588 HKD ‼️per person which includes a seafood platter for two, tapas, choice of a main dish and a dessert. 👀I loved every part of this brunch experience, my favourites were:
🤎Tapas - Truffled Mushroom Croquettes (V) 🤎 I suggest all the truffle lovers come and try this out! The truffle flavour is so so strong and it is quite crispy on the outside, it is so satisfying to eat. I am in love with every bite of it. 👌🏻
🍗Mains - Spring Chicken 🍗 The chicken was half roasted and came with some homemade fries (it was quite a satisfying spread). First of all, the chicken was soft to texture and nicely seasoned. 😇The fries were really crispy even though they were thick fries. 🔥
🖤Mains - Iberico Pork 🖤 I really loved how the pork was so soft in texture and thinly sliced! 🥰I suggest eating the pork slices with the romesco sauce, it’s very refreshing! 😌
🦞Seafood - Royal chilled Seafood Platter for Two🦞 I was abolsutely in love with this platter, not only it has a variety of seafood, they are also all very fresh! 🥰My personal favour was the chilled tuna tartare, it was very crunchy and the tuna were so soft that they melt in my mouth! 😍
🍓Sweets - Coconut & Berries 🍓 This is one of their signature dessert! The coconut foam was so refreshing, I kept going back for more! 🤤With the berries, it was quite a unique flavour as the berries were fresh and coconut foam was creamy. 😎
Other featured dishes: Tapas - Chef’s Rusa & Padron Peppers Sweets - Spanish Basque Style Cheesecake

Read moreChueca derives its name as an homage to the vibrant and spirited district in Madrid, Spain where renowned for its vivacious atmosphere and delectable gastronomy. Within the walls of Chueca, one is greeted by an ambience that exudes warmth and hospitality. The offerings here are nothing short of Spanish culinary delights, from the time-honored tapas to the fragrant paellas. Although it was not a recent visit, it remained a memorable dining experience I would love to share.
Royal Chilled Seafood Platter (8/10) The Seafood Platter was an extravagant feast for those who love the flavors of the sea. The succulent Boston lobster, paired with the briny yet buttery oysters on the half shell, showcase the essence of the ocean. The plump tiger prawns, fresh and cooked to perfection, melt-in-the-mouth. And the tuna tartare provides a light yet flavorful counterbalance to the richer lobster and oysters. Together the platter offers a memorable celebration of the bounty from the sea.
Tapas (7/10) - Chef's Rusa/ Padron Peppers/ Croquetas These are good selections of typical simple dishes. While the flavors were undoubtedly enjoyable and the presentation commendable, it played it safe with standard offerings that fell short of truly outstanding.
Spring Chicken (7.5/10) The half-roasted spring chicken impresses with its simple yet skilful execution. The lemon marinade permeates the meat, infusing it with a bright tangy flavor that stands out. The skin is crisp yet moist within, boasting a rich roasted chicken flavor. The homemade steak cut fries was equally outstanding with their robust flavour and enticing aroma.
Cheesecake (6.5/10) With great dollops of raspberry jam, the combination of flavors and acidity has tantalized my taste buds. While the portion may have been petite, I found it ideal as a delectable dessert to conclude a satisfying repast. The taste was delightful, boasting a captivating aroma. However, I had expected the cake with a creamier and more mousse-like texture, and it has fell slightly short of my...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding essential information that should have been communicated to customers beforehand. We made our reservation for dinner at Chueca almost a month ago. During the meantime, the restaurant failed to inform us of the lack of alcohol license. We only found that the restaurant cannot serve alcohol when we asked for the drink list, and was told to go to a nearby wine store to purchase our own bottles and be able to present the receipt if needed.
If the restaurant has informed us beforehand that they do not have an alcohol license because they are newly opened, we would have been very understanding and be happy to bring our own bottles. The fact that they chose not to inform us, or any other customers based on the reviews I have just read, this reflects extremely poorly on the management of the restaurant. Having worked in the F&B industry myself, I cannot understand how any management would choose to hide this fact from their customers, and expect them to run off in the middle of a meal to go purchase alcohol from elsewhere. On top of that, when we asked for tap water, we were told that it would cost $20. I have lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and I have never been to an F&B establishment that charges tap water. Unless the restaurant can justify the charge, I find this to be absurd.
We ordered a variety of dishes and we have enjoyed the food. There are no complaints regarding the quality or taste. However, no matter how great the food is, it cannot redeem poor service and management. We will not visit again as it is very clear that the restaurant management has no respect or consideration for their...
