This review is based on a takeout experience. While food from a takeout order is not going to be as good as it can be, the food was so bad that it made me doubt that the food would be good even straight from the kitchen. This review is written after the food has been eaten so no photos can be provided and I do apologise for that.
I tried their TAGLIOLINI NDUIA & CLAMS and SPAGHETTI AOP WITH SHRIMP
While the clams were good and tasted fresh, the nuduia sauce just doesn’t rly work well imo. Sth like a white wine sauce with butter and basil would work far better.
Spaghetti with shrimp was just a total letdown: tastes nothing but chilli (I know it’s supposed to have chilli oil but it simply doesn’t work when the whole dish is overpowered by the chilli oil), and it made the whole dish feels so one-dimensional and boring The thing that rly struck me was that there were only two shrimps in the pasta.. and they weren’t even good: overcooked and chewy
So these were the two that I tasted We also ordered the HOMEMADE FETTUCCINE GAMBERI ROSSIE BURRATA and RISOTTO KING PRAWN AND ASPARAGUS
While I can’t comment on the taste, there’s one major problem: the prawns in the fettuccine were not red prawns like how they were supposed to be. When compared to the king prawns in the risotto, they looked practically identical..
The whole meal was a total let down and the restaurant doesn’t rly deserve its current rating of...
Read moreThe restaurant is nothing like what’s described here makes me wonder whether the majority of these are paid reviews or the restaurant owner is changed lol
First thing, the environment wasn’t pleasant. The sofa has a really narrow seat so it wasn’t comfortable. There was a broken light that kept flickering. They’re not big problems but they can do better given the price of the restaurant.
So the food… The food is absolutely disappointing. Everything is simply bland. We had the vegetarian pizza and we had to ask the waiter for salt. The pasta with red prawn and blue cheese sauce has neither of those things. It’s simply a bland tomato sauce store-bought linguine with tiger prawn or something. No taste of blue cheese can be tasted in the sauce. The pile of burrata cheese at the top also made the already lukewarm pasta cold. Lastly, the bland tomato sauce with handmade pasta had a burrata cheese with a thick shell. Not sure how a restaurant who claims to be good at making cheese and mess this up.
Alas! The first time ever in my life I was tossed a bill without asking for it twice even though there was no queue outside the restaurant. It was an absolutely terrible experience and it amazed how it was full of people. Perhaps a lot of people have a few thousand dollars lying around to pay to be treated like this. Don’t come here at all unless you want you meal ruined. The photos look nice but they...
Read moreA refreshing change to typical pizza and pasta Italian restaurants and would definitely recommend and return again. Service was friendly and helpful. Came in on a whim on a Friday night and even though they were full, they managed to fit us in. Ordered a plate of Parma ham with a ball of buffalo mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, and salad which for $148 was really worth it given the substantial offering of the ham and cheese. We also ordered eggplant lasagna which my son finished despite him usually hating eggplant. The pizza with stracchino cheese, fresh tomatoes and basil with tomato sauce on a foccaccia style pizza base was by far one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Simple but with really good quality ingredients. The meat lasagna was good too but it tasted very similar to the eggplant version. Next time, will definitely try the cabanara pasta the next table ordered because that looked really good. My only disappointment was the desert which while nice, wasn't on par with the other dishes. Ordered a chocolate soufflé which turned out to be a molten chocolate lava cake and most likely store bought and microwaved. Otherwise, an enjoyable dinner experience highlighted by simplicity, freshness...
