Cupping Room (Central) - We moved to 49 Hollywood Road — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I've been here before for lunch and I went again today. The food is decent and decently priced, if typical coffeeshop fare. The coffee is actually not bad.

However, the service clearly leaves a lot to be desired. It was acceptable on the last occasion. However, today the staff forgot our order and happily served 5-6 people who came in after us. When I asked where our order was, the cashier merely asked "Oh, what did you order?" and when told what it was, simply turned and told the baristas what we had ordered. None of the 3-4 staff there said that they would fulfill our order (let alone ASAP given how long we had been waiting). Instead, we were left to assume that they were actually making our coffee, although in the meantime they served the orders of around 4-5 other people.

Even worse, no-one made any effort at all to apologise or say sorry. All of the staff studiously continued to behave as though nothing had happened. This was the case even when I told them that they should have at least said "Sorry".

It is totally meaningless to display all of the (older) awards they have won, and to have decent coffee and acceptable food, when the staff don't serve it to you and can't be bothered to even practice basic customer service. There are plenty of acceptable coffeeshops around town with better service, including Coco Espresso which is just...

When I came to DOUBLESHOT. I didn't know what to expect as i never heard of it. However, overall based on my 2 trips to this place. My view on this place is very good.

On my frist trip I noticed that this place has an atmosphere that's very calming and relaxing. Also, I noticed that they offer a food menu to order.

Regarding the menu and food. I noticed that there is various options of food to choose from. When i came in on my frist trip i tried the breakfast cabonara and the cheesecake.

For me I found the cheescake sooo good i wished I had umlimited supply of it. Regarding the breakfast carbonara noticed that there was an egg on top of the carbonara which was surprising. However, when i tasted the egg it was a little bit on the salty side but pasta was delicious.

Regarding the service I was taken care of by vangie. At first I didn't know what I desired for the drinks. However, she gave me a complimentary ice water which was a very nice gesture. When in making a decision on my drink Vangie came to take my order for the drinks and food. However, I was undecided so she gave me recommendations on the food and drinks to which was great recommendations and now I can't get enough.

I will definitely come back

I can’t rate the food because I was so disappointed with the service that I left. I have not been to Hong Kong in years due to COVID, but I had fond memories of the Cupping Room from previous trips. I headed to the Central location, being unsure of which venue I had visited previously. The heat and humidity meant I was hot and sweaty when I arrived, and the young woman behind the register barely registered my presence, other than to grimace. I took a few napkins and a menu and tried to dry off and cool down a bit. When I was ready to order, the same woman took my order. While I was getting my wallet out, she turned to her colleague, looked at me, said something I couldn’t understand and they both laughed. It was at that point that I decided my hard-earned money was not going to contribute to the salaries of people with such incredibly poor service abilities. This experience has been a huge disappointment and has left a bitter taste in my mouth. What was once a place I thought of fondly has been tainted....
