Thought my friends and I were the only ones but looking through the reviews, several other people have had unpleasant encounters with the host (I think that’s what you call the people that greet you and sit you down?).
Not only was he extremely unwelcoming, he was not very accommodating and frankly just came across as rude and contemptuous of my friends and I.
We were a group of three at a table of four initially but we had two more people join us later (we were not sure if they would show up on time but we had ordered takeaway for them just in case). When they did end up showing up, we asked if it would be possible to get one more chair for our table. The host already looked annoyed with us at that point (which I can still understand since it got busy in the restaurant around then) and told us there are no spare chairs since each table is assigned a fixed amount of chairs (there were a few empty tables here and there at this point).
We were fine with this because every restaurant has their own policy and we just asked if they could be seated separately at another table for 2. Instead of helping us find a solution to this problem, he just told us that there were no spare tables and all of the empty ones were reserved. At this point we were just getting slightly annoyed because he wasn’t willing to help in any capacity. He could have easily told us to wait 10 minutes or in general speak to us much more kindly (and I know he’s capable of smiling because I saw him clearly do so with the staff) since that’s how long it took for the restaurant to clear out with literally the table next to us being free.
Then when my friend went to a single table with a spare chair to ask if we could take that for our table, he stopped her saying there’s no space at the table and they can’t add extra chairs at the table (which was not his excuse earlier on btw) even though we could’ve easily made space without obstructing any walkway. We were trying to solve the issue ourselves and it was as if he was against every solution we tried and just wanted us out of the restaurant.
Overall, he just seemed unwilling to help us and appeared to be annoyed at the start before we even entered the restaurant when I ask to get the full menu since there was only the lunch special deals menu out front. Listen, I get sometimes there are difficult customers and the staff gets overwhelmed during busy periods but a. the restaurant was not nearly that hectic to justify the treatment and b. we genuinely tried to be as understanding as we could on our behalf since it’s not the restaurant’s fault we didn’t tell them the right amount of people. However, it was frustrating when the host refused to do his job to actually sit people?? and provide us with alternative seating arrangement such as offering my friends to wait until the text table...
Read morehorrible service - came in a bit later but still sufficiently well before closing, treated with such an attitude and when I found some plastic in my squid they said it was just the bone of the squid, and I sat there in disbelief thinking to myself - ok its bone not plastic, so what? you want me to choke on bone instead of plastic? i dont care what material it is, when you serve calimari which is meant to be eaten in one piece, you cannot expect customers to eat the one bite food whilst checking for bone in squid? they did not offer refund or any apology just said to me that I am wrong. I also ordered a strawberry smoothie mocktail thing which was 95% ice and undrinkable, it was less like a smoothie as advertised and more like shaved ice except the ice wasn't even shaved, just big cubes.
The mains were alternatively acceptable and much better. I ordered the pork basil rice and it was incredibly delicious - I just wish that the service was on par and it didn't ruin our experience at what I used to think was a reliable and consistent establishment.

Read moreExtremely poor service by the Manager. Manager presented the bill at 9:27pm and asked us to pay. Asked why there was no last order call and was told we had to pay. I asked that because we weren't asked for last order whether we could have one of their cakes in the display fridge and was flat out denied and was once again told to pay. I asked him to leave the cheque so I could get the money ready.
Paid by card with another waiter and then 10 mins later the manager came to me and pointed at the cheque, asking me to pay with his hand signals, no request whatsoever. I told him I paid and he rudely said who, which waiter? Once I pointed at the waiter, he questioned the waiter and said if I dont see the card receipt you will pay for the bill yourself.
Manager told me his surname was Tsui. He has no respect for his customers or for his colleagues.
