I think the comments on the Foodies app about this restaurant are not really fair; the quality of the dishes is too low for the price. As expected, it is very expensive—approximately $300 for one dish of chicken, $25 for a bowl of rice, and $100-$200 for any other normal dishes like vegetables.
I know it’s expensive, but I still go there because I expect good taste and excellent service. However, I feel like I’d rather go to a cha cheng teng.
The waiter was quite rude—not just in his words, but in his tone, which made me feel like I was disturbing him with each interaction.
Additionally, a fly kept flying around my table the whole time, which was very distracting and disgusting. I also found a small piece of the wrap from a toothpick under the chicken! It made me wonder whether the dish was not cleaned properly or if the chef put it there intentionally.
When I asked the waiter to take a look, he offered no apology and simply asked if he needed to change it for me. I declined, and he used his unclean hands to pick up the wrap, almost touching the chicken in the process.
The dishes looked good for taking pictures, but the taste was just so-so. The chicken is definitely not worth $300; even $100 is too much given the poor texture. While the sauces and chicken soup were tasty, I found myself feeling thirsty afterwards. The BBQ pork was too fatty, and the shrimp didn’t taste very fresh.
Overall, the experience felt more like a cha cheng teng level, but with hotel prices.
I had just visited Singapore and didn’t have time to go to the food market, which is part of the reason I came here. I remember trying this restaurant in Maxwell ten years ago, and it was already just so-so, but it matched the prices in the food market. I also tried the shop in Element Mall in Kowloon years ago, which was fair as well.
This is the third time I’ve visited this restaurant, and I will...

This is a michelin guide restaurant, very popular south east cusine restaurant.
the vibe for this restaurant is very nice, and the environment looks cozy, spacious, and a nice way to enjoy your evening.
We ordered a few dishes, the first being Crispy salt and pepper tofu. The texture is unique! its quite crispy on the outside but then very soft in the inside. a good start to the dinner with its nice savory taste, but not too strong too!
Then we had the black soya sauce turnip cake. This has a nice umami flavor, but also sweetness in the dish. A nice combination of flavor for this turnip cake!
We then had the stir fry tomato egg with spinach. This is a very fragrant and nice egg dish, with tomato and spinach makes for a flavorful but balanced taste in your mouth! definitely one of the potential dish of the night!
We then had minced pork, tofu and crystal noodles! this is definitely one of the dish of the night! the crystal noodles has a really nice umami flavor along with combination of tofu and minced pork together! the broth/sauce of this dish is amazing and it really helps elevating the dish to be even more tasty!
Lastly, we also had our yellow curry beef cheek. The beef is very tender, and nicely absorbed the flavor of the yellow curry. Definitely a very fulfilling, delicious, and...

The Hainanese Chicken was a standout dish, showcasing the tender, succulent chicken that was poached to perfection. The subtle flavors of ginger and garlic infused the meat, while the accompanying dipping sauces added a delightful kick.
Next, the shrimp and tomato sauce in rice noodle roll casserole was a comforting fusion of flavors. The rice noodle rolls were soft and silky, enveloping the juicy shrimp. The tomato sauce was surprisingly light yet packed with flavor, striking a balance that complemented the seafood beautifully.
The sautéed broccoli with garlic was a refreshing contrast to the richer dishes. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, retaining a crisp texture and vibrant color. The garlic added an aromatic depth that elevated the dish, making it a delightful palate cleanser.
To conclude, the fried buns with kaya sauce were an indulgent treat. The buns were golden and crispy on the outside, with a soft, pillowy interior. The kaya sauce—a sweet coconut jam—paired wonderfully, offering a sweet finish that was both rich...
