I have nothing but a positive experience here. We had the polo bun, egg tart and sandwich, which were all very nice. I was expecting a typical HK hospitality so I was surprised when the servers were actually friendly towards us. Please do note that this is a cha chaan teng and meant for cheap quick food. I wondered if other some reviewers had too much expectation. We’re happy to have experienced authentic HK cafe here. I appreciate that they have English menu (you gotta ask for it) because otherwise it would take me an hour to translate everything to my guests. Do note: - Space is limited, so be prepared to be crammed into tiny tables. I’d say party of 4 is max and eat quickly. - They only accept cash. - Each patron gotta order a drink or they’d be charged extra. - They open early and close right before dinner time. - And not-so-fun fact: it’s located in a street with one of the highest mortality traffic rate in HK, so stay alert for passing cars!

the workers here are ok especially the one ar the door...actually only one fat old uncle who was rude and shouting at customers who asked for egg tarts and he said no egg tarts here!!!!...can't u say properly! And I saw there is egg tarts in the menu.....later I asked another workers he politely told me is only available at 9.30am..tell nicely egg tarts only available at 9.30am la..how would i know...cus i saw it on the menu there is egg tart......and then i ordered breakfast set with polo bun he gave me another type of bun which i didnt order...i requested if can u please change...he immediately shouted at me "tell me earlier la" in Cantonese...then showed me his temper...hello, i came here to eat and spend money on it...not for free...bad service and spoil the cafe image...he should be fired!! Please avoid this cafe at all cost! There are other nicer and more friendlier cafe than here in Sheung Wan ( Wah Lok is much friendlier)..I give 10thumbs down to this place!!!!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

The pineapple bun is the main reason I am visiting here. I ordered a lunch set including soup noodles, fried eggs, pineapple bun with butter and hot milk tea. The pork veggies noodles are just fair. I saw most people ordering satay beef noodles, maybe it tastes better? Milk tea is just a normal cup of milk tea, both the flavour of the tea or the evaporated milk are not strong enough. The pineapple bun is, unfortunately, served in room temp. Dunno why the first few bites are a bit sour. Otherwise, it is fantastic! The bun is fluffy but not too airy, buttery and fragrant. The pineapple crust is thick and crunchy and the blob of butter adds an extra butteriness to the bun. I would like to have a bigger piece of butter in it actually. I overheard that the chicken pie and egg tart are also phenomenal. Perhaps next time, I will ask the waiter to reheat the bun for me.

I was so looking forward to the polo bun but it fell short of my expectations. bun was lukewarm and the top of the polo bun, everything just drop off when you take a bite or cut it. in the end, it become like just a normal bread bun. Marcaroni - I saw review that it wasnt salty but to our tastebuds, the "soup" was sadly pretty tasteless. My children love Marcaroni but didnt want to eat that either. The spam meat was like the taste in that bowl of marcaroni However thumbs up for the staff were still considered pretty polite and helpful. They moved fast in that small cafe space and kept an eye for my children when bringing hot food/ drinks Cafe was really cramp and small space. Good luck if you are carrying big bags or multiple bags (which was what happened to us) Location was pretty convenient to hop over to Tai Yuen street for some shopping after your food

I had my first meal here of my HK trip. Though being to HK countess times, the brunt efficiency of their service staffs are in full display here. I still get overwhelmed sometimes but ultimately they got the job done quickly and most importantly they doesn't left out anyone, esp the single diners. The food however, was rather underwhelmed. The Star dishes were pretty obvious as everyone were ordering the same thing and I followed suit, and the food was served within minutes as I believe they were all pre-cooked and 'assembled' together upon orders. I definitely had better satay beef noodle and the ham omelette looks better than it taste given its lukewarm temperature. What surprises me was the complementary sweet bun that was good in itself yet complimented the omelette well though I struggle to finished it due to the sheer amount of food.
