This place is the worst! I rarely write reviews on Google but I feel I must share my experience. I booked a table for 3 for 7pm. We turned up at 7:05. They told us to sit and wait. At 7:15pm one guy said I could have a table IF I could return it by 8:30. I said it was a bit tight esp Tung Po is known for its atmosphere and not a quick bite and go type place. He was agitated and said ‘then you sit and wait. Might wait a very long time’ and walked off.’ At 7:25pm a female waitress told me to follow her. On the way to table she said we must return the table by 8:30 I must finish. I said one hour was not enough. She said ‘You have no booking. I give you a table and you are not happy?’ I said but i booked. She saw that i did but instead of apologising she told me to look at my watch, that it was 7:30pm so it meant I was really late. She told me to count myself lucky she was giving you a table at all. I said to her she saw us sit there for 15 mins. She had no reply to that. Theb she said: ‘dont tell me you cannot finished a meal in 55 mins. What you mean not enough.’ Then walked off after we sat down. We ordered as quickly as we could. From 8:10pm they kept coning back to tell us the table was needed soon. We had absolutely no peace during this meal. Then at about 8:20pm they told us we could stay longer if we moved to a different table. But we were eating crab and it was messy and i said that it was only 8:10. We were so tired dealing with them we wanted to leave so told them they would get their table back at 8:30. Then 8:20 they came back and said ‘the 8:30 people are here, you need to leave.’ At 8:25 we asked for the bill and a waitress who we hadnt interacted with came with it. I got out my credit card and she said ‘no no, credit card for over $2000 only.’ I asked where it said that. Menu? On the wall? Website? She whispered in my ear: ‘this place is always like this, our bosses make us do stuff like this and make us be the bad guys, I am so sorry.’ She took my credit card and eventually let us pay with the card. I is great that any restaurant is heaving esp post Covid but just because you have lots if customers, it doesn’t mean they will keep returning or that your hype will last forever. There is no way I would ever return to this place or recommend...

If you are not Chinese don't come here or you will be ripped off. The first impression of the place is good, it's full of people and loud, cheerful atmosphere. Unfortunately we were ultimately ripped off with our order and bill. We had to fight to get the right order and the right price on the bill. The chef is arrogant and the staff makes fun of tourists who don't speak Chinese. We ordered chicken with cashews nuts and they brought us chicken kidneys. When we asked if it was our dishes, they said yes, it was awful and completely inedible. We sent it back to the kitchen. Only when I noticed that other waiters were laughing at us and thanks to the help of an English-speaking local person, the boss said that our proper dishes would arrive soon. In fact, other dishes came, but I don't know what it was, it wasn't tasty and looked different than other people's dishes. We only ate them because we were hungry after a long wait for food. Unfortunately, another problem arose when we asked for the bill. It turned out that it is almost twice as high as it should be, we had exactly calculated how much we should pay. After an unpleasant conversation with the boss, the bill was lowered, but it was still too high, everything was written in Chinese so we started asking what the next items meant, then it turned out that they lowered our bill again to the correct price. Unfortunately, they clearly wanted to deceive us and make us a laughing stock. I travel a lot and nowhere in the world have I encountered such tragic...

Maybe it was a case of me ordering their worst item on the menu or a poor recommendation from the waiter; either way I cannot ignore that the food was disappointing. The place is hard to find, as there are no signs and you can only find it, if you knew the second floor of a certain building has this restaurant. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very lively, as you would expect in a "Dai Pai Dong". Full of energy and the customers having a good time. As a really wanted to try mantis shrimp, I asked for a mantis shrimp recommendation from the waiter. The dish was called "Mantis shrimp in egg white". The dish tasted like boiled egg white with no seasoning - tasted like unseasoned hard boiled egg without the yolk! As far as mantis shrimp is concerned, I would have needed a microscope to find the few grams they put in it. When I complained, the waiter said they put a small amount because it was expensive. Well wise guy, you should have warned me about that when you made the recommendation. One hell of a recommendation! In fact, I recommend this dish should be taken off the menu from this restaurant and any other restaurant in this planet. I hope the fishes and crabs that I could see the other customers ordering that night, were much better than my dish. Apart from the atmosphere and the energy, I didn't...

An eatery serving wonderfully fresh seafood and vegetables. Located in a wet market without AC, it's advisable to go there only in the cooler months. The atmosphere is definitely "casual", just remember that you are here for the food! And what food it is! We had a great Green Salad, Fish Head Soup, Fried Oysters, and a small Steam Grouper. Everything is just superbly cook and delicious. Too bad Hong Kong is in the shape it's in today, wonder when I can get back to taste this food again... Oh, forgot in include an amusing thing about this restaurant: We ordered a large bottle of the local San Miguel beer to go with the food. The waiter arrived at the table with the bottle and 2 rice bowls, pouring the beer into the rice bowls and serving it to us. We poured out the water in our glasses and poured the been into the glasses. When we had almost emptied our glasses, the waiter came over and pour the rest of the beer back into the rice bowls and added extra beer from the bottle into the rice bowls and again served it to us. I guess drinking beer from a rice bowl allows you to quaff more freely, and is a local custom at this restaurant. So we left the beer in the rice bowls for the rest of the evening!

Old Hong Kong style dining place in the cooked food market located above a wet market, with a wide variety of seafood, meats, poultry and vegetable dishes. Some of the seafood options are fresh from the tank. Food are nice and in very generous portion, I think it would be better if you come in a group. At the end of the meal, free sweet soup were offered. Unlike general cooked food markets, Tung Po was surprisingly clean and hygienic, the staffs were also very friendly and lovely despite how busy it was. Definitely recommend advanced booking, but queueing was not taking too long anyway. We were unfortunately sitting close to a table of very rude people, one of the diners repeatedly opening the beer bottle towards our direction and had the beer caps flipped to us deliberately multiple times and see if he could hit someone on purpose. That guy was simply disgusting with zero manner. Of course this was at no fault of the restaurant but the quality of people, so it didn’t affect my rating. But it is afterall a busy restaurant so I would affect your experience. If you sit to a normal or even a fun table, it could be as lively as a party.

This restaurant used to be located at Java Road Market and Cooked Food Centre so I like this new location! I went there 15 minutes before 6pm and this place had half of the tables occupied! The manager is so kinds to give us a table even I didn’t make a reservation! We ordered 3 dishes and one of the dishes is a fresh fish and the manager suggested half of the fish to be steamed and the other half was pan fired! The steamed side wasn’t too good and the manager did realize it so he offered to use the meat from rest of the fish to make 3 spoons of rice! It turned out it tasted good! Later on the pan fired came and it tasted so good! I remember the name of this fish is called Fourfinger threadfin and its Chinese name is called 馬友!I will give this place a second chance and suggest to go with at least 5 people then you will be able to try more dishes! Forgot to mention we ordered a bottle of beer and they gave us an ice cold bowl to drink the beer and we enjoyed it!
