An eatery serving wonderfully fresh seafood and vegetables. Located in a wet market without AC, it's advisable to go there only in the cooler months. The atmosphere is definitely "casual", just remember that you are here for the food! And what food it is! We had a great Green Salad, Fish Head Soup, Fried Oysters, and a small Steam Grouper. Everything is just superbly cook and delicious. Too bad Hong Kong is in the shape it's in today, wonder when I can get back to taste this food again... Oh, forgot in include an amusing thing about this restaurant: We ordered a large bottle of the local San Miguel beer to go with the food. The waiter arrived at the table with the bottle and 2 rice bowls, pouring the beer into the rice bowls and serving it to us. We poured out the water in our glasses and poured the been into the glasses. When we had almost emptied our glasses, the waiter came over and pour the rest of the beer back into the rice bowls and added extra beer from the bottle into the rice bowls and again served it to us. I guess drinking beer from a rice bowl allows you to quaff more freely, and is a local custom at this restaurant. So we left the beer in the rice bowls for the rest of the evening!

Old Hong Kong style dining place in the cooked food market located above a wet market, with a wide variety of seafood, meats, poultry and vegetable dishes. Some of the seafood options are fresh from the tank. Food are nice and in very generous portion, I think it would be better if you come in a group. At the end of the meal, free sweet soup were offered. Unlike general cooked food markets, Tung Po was surprisingly clean and hygienic, the staffs were also very friendly and lovely despite how busy it was. Definitely recommend advanced booking, but queueing was not taking too long anyway. We were unfortunately sitting close to a table of very rude people, one of the diners repeatedly opening the beer bottle towards our direction and had the beer caps flipped to us deliberately multiple times and see if he could hit someone on purpose. That guy was simply disgusting with zero manner. Of course this was at no fault of the restaurant but the quality of people, so it didn’t affect my rating. But it is afterall a busy restaurant so I would affect your experience. If you sit to a normal or even a fun table, it could be as lively as a party.

Go here for the most authentic meal! It's located on the second floor of a market in a room full of small food shops. Of all the food stalls, this one was the only busy one! Tables were full, it was clear why: We ordered the razor clams with black bean sauce - apparently they're known for it. It was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly, veggies were super fresh and had a nice crunch to them. We also ordered their salted egg yolk prawns. Omg they were gone immediately. Their seafood fried rice comes out in a huge clay pot - so much more food than I imagined, but it was so good. The place is a little pricier than some of the other hole in the wall spots we've found, but they were worth it. Our party of four couldn't stop talking about it after we left and throughout the rest of the trip, it was that good. Note that they don't really speak English, so we were able to point and some of the party could speak broken Cantonese so it worked out fine.

I have been to Tung Po many years ago and was happy to visit here again. There were 10 of us, and the restaurant did a good job arranging two tables for us close to each other. They also ensured the dishes were divided into two portions to put on two tables. The staff was exceptionally professional when I asked about the portion of food. For example, I asked him if I should order a whole chicken or half chicken, and he suggested we ordered half chick, as we have also called other dishes. We ordered several dishes and loved each one of them. Although the fried tofu is different from what we expected, it's ok. The signature chicken is our favorite among them. No wonder it's the signature!!! It's a great dinner, and it's also a good place for friends gathering. I also like we can make reservations, which makes things much more manageable.

Really depends what you want for dinner in the evening! For me, wont be here again! Came here on friday night, ppl were getting soo hyper to sing with the loud music. One of the staffs was even dacing between tables. Pretty good environment if u prefer that. For me, the music was making me headache. Ordered deep fried bean curd, pork chop with mayonnaise and amaranth with preserved eggs. They were all standard size, not cheap, low cp value. I supposed the fried pork chop with mayonnaie made on request, but it came out not really hot, maybe because of mayonnnaise covered?! Those pork chop had many small broken bone pieces in between, mind your teeth when bite into it. And and and.....they were really dry and hard to chew and looked like deep-fried for multiple times. Really disappointed! Do not recommend really.

This reincarnation of the classic Tung Po dai pai dong is a very close facsimile of the original establishment when it was located at the Java Road Cooked Food Center in North Point. They’ve done their best to try to recreate the old atmosphere, but you do remember that you’re in a random commercial building. We ordered the razor clams cooked in garlic with vermicelli and the deep fried spicy crab. Also got some tofu, veggies and fried rice to round out the meal. The food was absolutely on point. The only issue we had was hearing each other speak. The place was absolutely packed (it was a Saturday night) and full of boisterous patrons. It was nice to see and experience that atmosphere, but I could understand if some people may find the loudness overwhelming. Will be back for sure.
