Le Petite Saigon is a newly introduced eatery by the Black Sheep Restaurant Group located along Wing Fung Street, next to sister-restaurant La Garcon Saigon. This is a simple place that serves up very good Bahn Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches). Opening hours are 12pm to 8.30pm daily.
Things are really simple at Le Petite Saigon. There are options - pork, chicken or tofu Bahn Mi, which are made to order, using all the right ingredients from liver spread, flavoured meat (or tofu), with pickled carrot, greens an peppers served in a fresh small baquette - just like you'd find on the streets of Saigon.
Visited here recently and came away very impressed with the chicken bahn mi. The sandwich was flavourful ingredients delicious. This was the best bahn mi I've tried in Hong Kong to date and something I'm looking forward to having again.
Hong Kong has finally seen the introduction of quality Vietnamese concept restaurants in recent years and La Petite Saigon is a great addition to that scene. In short, if you want a really good bahn...
Read moreFantastic banh mi and by far one of the best in town! Big portion, filling and so SO delicious! You can really taste how simple yet fresh the ingredients are, and the bread is perfectly soft. Yet at the same time, it’s also packed with flavor in every bite! The spicy mayo they serve with the sides is also really yummy. Overall their banh mis are perfect for a quick meal, or if you’re a bit hungrier, add a side and a drink. I initially wanted to order their potato gems on the side, but sadly they ran out temporarily. However, this very minor disappointment was forgotten about just seeing how fantastic the service was, and staff were just upbeat and cheery; just lovely vibes all around. Their Vietnamese coffee is also fantastic, and there’s coffee ice in the middle so the taste doesn’t get watered down easily with regular ice. Highly recommend this spot and definitely one I will keep coming back to!
Shoutout to Nikki and JJ for being super welcoming and lovely...
Read moreI really want to love this place because I think they do a 5* banh mi. Yes, it's expensive for a banh mi but it's lovingly and generously constructed with quality ingredients and is delicious paired with their intense Vietnamese coffee. Anywhere that bothers freezing cubes of the drink it's served in is a winner in my books.
But I knock off 3 stars for the 20% success rate of my orders. I've tried the Go app, ubereats, calling directly and going in person but irrespective of my choice of ordering method there will frequently be one issue or another with my order. It's also exceptionally frustrating that there's no direct line to call about mishaps, forcing you instead to call their big brother garçon or black sheep HQ.
They do earn a redemption star for when it's your lucky day and you get through to the exceedingly helpful British lady at garçon who can expediently run off the correct order for you. Otherwise, you're up sh* creek...
