I recently dined at The Pizza Project in Wan Chai, and it was an unforgettable experience filled with delightful flavors and a cozy atmosphere.
We started with the Cacio E Pepe Fries, which were a crispy, cheesy delight. The perfect balance of pepper and cheese made them an addictive starter. Next, the Caprese Salad was refreshingly light, with ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella drizzled with balsamic. It was a lovely way to kick off our meal.
The Truffle Beef Tartare was a standout dish—rich and indulgent, with the truffle elevating the beef to new heights. The Antipasti Platter was also impressive, featuring a variety of cured meats and cheeses that paired beautifully with the accompanying bread.
For the main event, we indulged in the Frutti Di Mare Pizza and the Diavola Pizza. The seafood pizza was topped with fresh ingredients, bursting with flavor, while the Diavola offered a spicy kick that pizza lovers will appreciate. Both pizzas had a perfectly baked crust that was crisp yet chewy.
To finish off our meal, we couldn't resist the desserts. The Banana Split was a nostalgic treat, beautifully presented. The Tropicana Cream was a refreshing end to the meal, with a delightful mix of tropical flavors. Lastly, the Chocolata was rich and decadent, perfect for chocolate lovers.
Overall, The Pizza Project in Wan Chai offers a fantastic dining experience with a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. The combination of quality ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Highly...
Read moreDined here early-ish on a Sunday evening with two adults and two children (aged 3 and 4). On a positive note the food was good. The pizzas were tasty, and a suitable size for two people to share.
However, the seating arrangements were disappointing. We were seated on the first table in a row of high side tables, on bar stools. This made it difficult for the kids to get up and down on the seats (especially as the surrounding space was very limited) and eat comfortably. The seating arrangement posed further problems when people arrived and were seated next to us. It meant that the child and adult closest to the wall needed to get out to allow the other table to be seated. I am estimating that there was about 50cm of space to do this - quite difficult for an average size person and even more difficult when the parent was also having to look after the wellbeing of the 3yr old. The tables were not big enough for purpose. Not really enough room for two pizzas, place settings and drinks. The person next to me on the neighbouring table was unable to eat without constanting touching me - making both parties uncomfortable.
As mentioned, we thought the food was good and there was a friendly vibe to the place but the downstairs seating is problematic and would benefit...

It was the worst experience ever, we visited a few days after its opening, seated on a beautiful ledge facing the open kitchen- first problem is, staff are wearing rings and using their phone while dealing with pizza, without any gloves and definitely did not wash their hands after touching their phone. Well, its an open kitchen, so i guess we did get to see everything. second problem is when our pizza arrive, to our horror- there are tiny bugs wriggling on around the shaved cheese, and while we send it back to the kitchen, the staff did come to apologise for the inconvenience but the manager? nothing.
To top it off, we sent an email to Pizza project, didnt want to post anywhere just to be fair to them- no one responded until we sent another email to Pirata group - only then we get a response from the Manager of Pizza Project, not an email to apologise only, but an email to explain what happened and oh, we paid everything in full on that day and the manager that emailed us back kindly gave us his personal whatsapp but message took forever to response, we gave up.
Would we go back ? No. Would we tell our friends when they speak of pizza project wan...
