Surprisingly, this is my first visit to a Pici and it certainly won’t be the last. Perhaps it was my mistake of choosing a newly opened (ish) store but the service here definitely needs improvement. For example, I got four different servers ask if I wanted my plate cleared and having to say no to everyone. Secondly, the manager does not seem to updated about their app which bothered me as he first gave hope that I can book Pici on the app.
We came at 2 pm on a Sunday and the whole semi-outdoor seats were available so we sat there as there was good weather.
Food-wise, everything was great. The two of us ordered off their a la carte menu as they don’t have a lunch set during weekends, only a Sunday brunch which we felt to be too much (both food and money wise). We got one starter and two pastas to share.
We are given a bag of sliced bread (I wanna say baguette but the crumb reminds me of a dense sourdough haha) with olive oil and balsamic to dip. The bread arrived cold and had to ask for it to be reheated only to have the centre cold on the second time. Fortunately, our second (third) bag of bread arrived hot and crusty. Their oil and vinegar is pretty underwhelming as I only get (tasteless) oil when I try to dip it in the mixture.
The burrata is nice and you can taste the cream and richness which many other restaurants’ lack. They also remembered to season it and oil it which is very important in letting the actual taste come out. Paired with some rocket and (unfortunately mushy) tomatoes for a nice little bite. Elevate the bite with their complimentary bread for the perfect bite.
After a solid 5 minutes, our pastas came one at a time. Starting with the Pici Cacio e Pepe; the sauce is very indulgent and rich but also spicy and sharp from the black peppercorns. If they did it traditionally, it would have only been pecorino and black pepper emulsified into the pasta water. I’m not sure about the one here as it got congealed and gooey very fast but at least it tastes really good and u mopped up the congealed sauce with their bread. Noodle-wise, it’s certainly different than regular pasta and resembles Chinese wheat noodles since it’s made from regular flour and no eggs. Thus, it got doughy rather quick but I liked it.
The second pasta we got was their Chitarra Elle Vongole which was a delight after the rather heavy and rich Pici. The Chitarra is perfectly Al dente; tender and chewy and holds onto the garlic butter sauce extremely well due to its thin diameter. The Manila clams are cooked and seasoned very well with a few smaller clam meats in the center too. Loved eating them with the pasta for the texture contrast, alongside the crisp Panko bread crumbs. Don’t forget to mop up remaining garlic butter sauce with bread!
Portion-wise was great to share for two. I guess one pasta per person is the way to go but I definitely recommend sharing if you can as they can get boring/heavy...

Food We began our meal with the Burrata Cheese and Tuna Tartare as appetizers. The burrata was creamy and rich, perfectly paired with fresh ingredients that highlighted its flavor. The tuna tartare was equally impressive—fresh and expertly seasoned, it was a refreshing start to our meal.
For the main course, we opted for the Lasagna Classica and the Chitarra Prawn. Both dishes featured fresh handmade pasta that truly elevated the meal. The lasagna was comforting and packed with flavor, while the chitarra prawn showcased a delightful combination of textures and tastes that left us wanting more.
Desserts To finish off our meal, we indulged in Pina Colada Sorbet and Oreo Ice Cream. The sorbet was refreshing and packed with tropical flavor, providing a perfect palate cleanser. The Oreo ice cream was creamy and delicious, rounding off our dining experience beautifully.
