Tai Hing — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Feels like this branch is not as good as the ones we’ve been to over in the Kowloon side. But pretty standard.

Service - HK style, a bit nonchalant, a bit of “let’s go”, and be done.

Price wise - it’s average, they have set meals so it’s easy to split and share.

We order a few standard dishes… like a 3 roast meat (3 jewels type thing), the roast pig could be better… but the chicken and char siu was pretty good. Also got a veggie - which was ok, bc the leaves were a bit too soggy… it’s the potato leaves, so it does get mushy if overcooked. Kids didn’t like it. The eggplant claypot was mid. Again, the other branch makes it better - piping hot better! The string beans was such a blah.

Had Deliveroo pickup and their staff passed me the wrong order twice after I told the number. I had to check the receipt number and told her it’s incorrect. Then the colleague scolded me for holding the wrong order BUT they are the ones who handed me the bags in the first place!!! Also the chicken was undercooked and had blood inside the meat(not just the bone) I spit it out and got stomach ache afterwards. Food and Hygiene department should investigate this restaurant’s cleaning practices definitely don’t...

We got in late for a quick bite. As there's barely an hour before closing, only the roasted meat set was available. No charsiu unfortunately. We ordered chicken and roast pork combo on rice. This set was served with a small plate of choi sum and a hot drink. All the meat was cold with rice barely warm. Perhaps we couldn't ask for much as there's only 50 minutes left. Food came quickly.
