A nice cafe near HKU✨ I have tried a duet dinner set with 1 appetiser, 2 mains, 1 dessert, and 2 drinks.
The appetiser is a Parma Ham Roll. The outer layer is wrapped with parma ham, while the filling is full of rummy cream cheese, mixed roast nuts and dried berries. The roll can be dipped into a blueberry jam, which can nicely balance the savoury flavour. This dish with a combination of sweet and savoury taste is really impressive.
The first main is Pistachio Pesto & Halloumi Crumbs Linguine. The pistachio sauce has a great texture and flavour. The whole linguine is creamy and rich.
The second main is Citrusy Parchment Baked Salmon with Tuscany French Toast & Roasted Vegetable. The salmon is cooked perfectly, with super soft texture and delicious flavour of slight sourness. The French toast is full of herbs, and it is so soft inside. This main dish really stands out.
The dessert is Banana Bourbon. There are bananas soaked with bourbon, with many pecan crumbles. While there is a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a caramelised banana on top. The sweetness is just right.
The drinks taste nice, which are guava coconut water and flat white.
The atmosphere is so chill and relaxing. The staff are nice...
Read moreNice cafe/restaurant near HKU. We ordered the breakfast set and the Spanish tortilla. Wonderful presentation! The fries were great cause it’s made of real potatoes with skin - just a bit salty. Honey coffee was good but a bit too sweet. The large table makes it a popular choice for HKU students to catch up with work. Price may not be the cheapest but the food quality is very very good. There was a 10% discount with HKU card when I went there.
One minor complaint is that they have a category of ‘egg dishes with bread’, and I ordered the Spanish tortilla under this category. When it came out, it didn’t come with bread so I asked the staff. Turns out the tortilla was the only menu that doesn’t come with bread :/ not a big deal but I was a tiny bit disappointed, I thought they should’ve at least indicated it on the menu regardless. Nevertheless, the dish still fills me up well because it’s potato based, justifying the lack of bread that...
