#Appreciated Dishes:

One of the highlights of our meal was the Naan bread. It was soft, fluffy, and complemented the various curries we ordered. Although the fish curry was not typical of Indian/Nepali taste, it still tasted delicious with a slight sweetness.

#The taste of the dishes could be improved.

While the dishes were tasty, there were certain ones that left us feeling unsatisfied. The chicken momo didn't have the right flavor, and it’s possible that it wasn't properly marinated. The chicken biryani also didn't meet our expectations in terms of flavor depth. Furthermore, the taste of *Panipuri wasn't authentic because it seemed to have been altered to suit the Hong Kong market's taste.

#Complimentary Dishes:

The complimentary dishes served to us, including papad and mint pickles, enhanced our dining experience.

The location of this restaurant is a little bit difficult to find. For easy access, just get off on whitty street tram station and head to west, you will see 7/11 shop nearby. Go ahead for about 20 meters and turn right onto the road. After about 30 meters walking, on the left side, you will see Rajdoot. When exiting HKU MTR station, proceed east, cross the road, and turn left.

Rajdoot is a relatively new Indian restaurant along Queen's Road West. They are open from 11am to 3pm (lunch) and 6-10pm (dinner) daily and offer take-away and delivery for those who prefer to eat from within the comfort of their area offices, homes and hotels.

I recently tried them for the first time, my lunch being delivered in 30 minutes, packaged well for transport and tasting pretty good. During the lunch, I had the Josh Rogan, some of the lamb was tender and soft, other pieces a bit tough. The curry was flavourful. You have option of how hot you like, I went with 'hot' option. This was a medium heat level, no sweating nor mouth burn. The Basmati Saffron rice order was just fine.

Overall, a pretty good showing for Rajdoot. I'll definitely order from them again to try some of their other...

Food was good, but the pricing did not make sense. I ordered a student set ($60) and asked for a refill of naan. It was only told to me afterwards that student set did not have refill, and I have to be charged $10 extra.

Which was fine except the normal set with a refill was $67, which I only realized afterwards. So by using a student discount, I literally paid more for the same thing. The staff should understand their menu the most, and I hope they can make their menu more clear, and not charge more for something labeled as a "student set".

It's a shame because the food and everything else is good, but the communication from the staff regarding pricing is not good, and I feel slightly cheated if only a few dollars.

Will edit this review if I see their transparency...

We ordered the saag paneer, chicken korma, regular naan, and butter naan. Both have quite a number of paneer and chicken in it. The korma is a bit spicy. The taste was flavourful. Not a big bowl at first glance, but they are definitely yummy and filling. The butter naan and regular naan however were not of much difference though, the regular one is good enough. Love that they have student set too! Might come back if we want Indian/ Nepalese cuisine, indeed a good lunch option~
