I made a reservation today for 2 at 830pm, and they confirmed it on the phone. Then, after I canceled another dinner reservation since Uehara was available, "Ray" called and said that the "chef decided it was too full and my reservation is canceled" .. he wasn't even polite or apologetic. I told him I gave up another reservation since they were available, and he didn't care or offer to do anything. This is a terrible customer service attitude. Because they already had confirmed my reservation, I naturally canceled my other reservation, so now I have none. Then, as I was writing this review, the chef or manager called back and I thought maybe they'd come to their senses, but he just said sorry but no I can't do anything we're too full. I asked if they really can't take 2 people more because I've now lost my other reservation and he said no and he said it's our fault, so I said that you should at least do something for me, but he just said "no cannot sorry." They could offer a discount on a future meal, some tiny gesture would've been good enough after making a mess of my...

Best sushi I have ever had in my life! It's a very special experience, he doesn't have a menu, but everyone has the same courses. Each of the courses is an explosion of flavours and so tasty! Chef is preparing food right in front of you. He always describes what you are eating and happy to answer any questions! He also helped us with the sake choice, excellent sake. Probably the most expensive restaurant I have ever been to, but absolutely worth the experience! This is for special dates and something to remember for a very long time! Make sure to book and enjoy this special place and for a few hours you can forget that you are actually in Hong Kong and feel so special,...

When a sushi restaurant is named after its chef/owner, you know that heart and soul will be put into every detail and Uehara san doesn’t disappoint. Not only is every piece of sushi perfectly fresh, it’s cut to perfection thanks to Uehara san’s decades of experience. Beyond the amazing sushi, the level of creativity that goes into creating each dish on the omakase menu is really something special and although each dish is outstanding in its own right, the sum-of-the-parts is even more incredible. Whether it’s for a lunchtime sushi fix or for a special occasion, the intimate 10 seat counter at Sushi Uehara should be top...

I was invited for a private Omakase dinner to benefit Fukushima. It was awesome. It only has 16 seats. One table for 4 and sushi counter for 12. Fish were fresh. Staffs were all Japanese and they were attentive to 16 rowdy expats. Don't drive as there isn't any parking around. You can get off a cab in front or hail a cab in front of 7-11 nearby. We took MTR and walked 10 mins.

Up and down sushi omakase but more ups (toro, uni, sea bream) than downs (the chef can be very heavy handed with seasonings rather than letting the ingredients speak for themselves). Pleasant surroundings, very good service.
