After reading some reviews, and searching online for the ‘best’ fish & chip in HK we had high hopes. We visited early in the evening around 5pm to check it out as we were in the area, but were told that the kitchen wasn’t open until around 7pm or 8pm. When I phoned to check again around 6:45pm I discovered the phone number listed online was not in service. We took the risk and turned up around 7:15pm and were initially told kitchen still wasn’t open, but then they told me they could take my order. Placed my order for Fish & Chips, Oysters, and Garlic Prawns. 10 minutes later we were told sorry there were no oysters tonight, so I ordered an extra piece of fish. The fish and chips arrived after around 15 min. The portion size was on the small side and the fish was very dry and over cooked. Chips were ok, but not particularly hot and crispy. No prawns were served with at the time. Asked about prawns and were told they were still coming so we finished our fish and chips, still no prawns 20 min later. Went to pay the bill and checked to see if the prawns were on it. We were told they were almost ready. 40 min to cook garlic prawns, really! Decide to wait for the prawn as I was still hungry given the small portion. The prawn were very good, but the only redeeming part on the who experience. Disappointed to say it was the worst deep fried fish I think...
Read moreNice little place tucked away, almost, among all the other places along this street. Luckily, the moustache sign lured me towards their quaint high seats only bar. Service is impeccable thanks to the lady manning the shop. Superb music and extra cold beer. Can't go wrong. Would love to give their food a try since a good third of the place is occupied by a professional kitchen. Next time! For now, a locally brewed IPA is what I am going to chill with. They have a new signature cocktail, Hint of Mint, which comes highly recommended. Very refreshing if you like mint and don't mind a bit...
Read moreThis place is a little gem hidden in the city. I’ve struggled to find good quality fish and chips since arriving here in Hong Kong. But this place delivered beyond my expectations. The staff are great and super friendly. My friend ordered the steak and that was unbelievable, I almost wish I had ordered it myself. I highly recommend this place for all, I’m typically British so I’m quite fussy with food, if you’re having issues finding somewhere to eat, just come down here, you won’t be...
