If you're a steak lover or simply in search of an exceptional dining experience in Soho, look no further than Le Moment. This restaurant has truly impressed me with its outstanding offerings.
To start, I must mention the mussels. I have never been a fan of mussels, but after trying them at Le Moment, my perspective has completely changed. They were incredibly fresh and juicy, bursting with flavor. It's as if they were plucked straight from the sea moments before serving. This dish alone is worth a visit!
Now, onto the steak—simply divine. I ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. Each bite was a revelation; the meat was so tender it felt like beef jelly, oozing with juicy goodness and rich flavor. It’s hard to articulate just how satisfying it was.
The lamb was equally remarkable. It was succulent and melt-in-your-mouth soft, showcasing a depth of flavor that left me craving more. Each slice was expertly seasoned, enhancing its natural richness, making it a delightful companion to the steak. The care and skill in preparation were evident, elevating this dish to another level.
Adding to this culinary masterpiece was the foie gras. When paired with the lamb and steak, the flavors harmonized beautifully, creating a luxurious experience that was nothing short of perfection. The rich, buttery texture of the foie gras elevated each dish, adding a decadent touch that truly brought everything together.
To complement the meal, the red wine options at Le Moment are simply outstanding. Each selection is carefully curated, ensuring that you will never be disappointed. The wine perfectly enhances the flavors of the dishes, making every sip a delightful experience that pairs beautifully with your meal.
Of course, the warm and inviting vibe of the restaurant, combined with the attentive and friendly service, makes for an unforgettable dining experience. Bob and all the satff genuinely care about your experience and are eager to recommend the perfect pairings, adding to the overall charm of the evening.
Overall, Le Moment is a culinary gem in Soho. Whether you're a steak enthusiast or someone who’s looking to expand their palate, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t...
Read moreNot recommended for large groups – Disappointing experience despite decent food
I would only recommend this restaurant for small groups(probably) — it is definitely not suitable for large parties. We came as a group of 20+, and the space was far too cramped to accommodate us comfortably.
There were noticeable hygiene issues with the restroom — it was damp and unwelcoming, and it appeared staff may have been using it to shower, which was quite off-putting.
The service was extremely slow, with 30–40 minutes (or more) between courses. At one point, they even ran out of soup bowls and had to serve us using a mix of different containers, which felt disorganized and unprofessional.
During the meal, what seemed to be the owner attempted to upsell us on their signature scallops and foie gras. When we asked for the pricing the second time, he mentioned that it’s “already on the menu” — which we found ironic, as no menu was ever provided to us (likely because the dinner was pre-booked). His tone came across as passive-aggressive, which was a disappointing shift in the atmosphere.
We started dinner at around 6:45pm by a little after 9pm — with dishes still coming slowly — one of our guests politely asked if her main course could be served earlier as she had a 1:30am flight to catch. The owner immediately said "No", claiming it would "mess up the kitchen order." When we explained we didn’t expect the dinner to last this long, he unapologetically responded that they “didn’t schedule the dinner ends at 9pm cause we stay open late.” She ended up having to rush through her meal, which felt unnecessary and avoidable with better communication.
There were also a few other strange interactions throughout the evening — some of which others have mentioned in their reviews — mostly involving the owner's attitude.
On the positive side, the food itself was not bad, but the overall experience was marred by poor service, lack of hospitality, and an awkward atmosphere. With the price we paid, we could have easily chosen a venue with better ambiance, smoother service, and more...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at Le Moment on Central Peel Street was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the elegant yet welcoming ambiance, making it the perfect setting for a memorable meal.
The meal began with the tomato salad, a refreshing and vibrant dish that showcased the freshness of the ingredients. It was followed by the fresh tomato soup with Spain black tomato which was rich, velvety, and bursting with flavor—a true comfort in a bowl. For the next course, the fresh mussels were a standout, perfectly cooked and served in a fragrant broth that I couldn’t get enough of. The baked Camembert cheese** was another highlight, oozing with creamy goodness and paired with crusty bread—a decadent treat for cheese lovers.
When it came to the main courses, I was spoiled for choice. The lamb chops were tender and succulent, cooked to perfection with a beautiful herb crust. The steak was equally impressive, juicy and flavorful, with a delicious sear that added just the right amount of smokiness. And the duck confit is Simply divine—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together.
To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The owner was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the dining experience they provided. Every dish was presented with care, and the timing of each course was flawless.
