Saw the pictures online and loved the decor, enjoyed the pickles, tofu and peanut nic naks but that it started going downhill very quickly
Can’t rate the service lower than 1, it was so poor it’s dragged a 4 food and atmosphere review to a 1* review. If the review could go lower it would.
Worst service I’ve ever experienced, main waitress telling us one of the dishes was poor and should be upgraded for her commission. Expressing that the upgraded dish was more filling, which led us to order extra rice and not once reminding us that noodles and dumplings were included in the set menu. We were full by the time the duck was served and the dumplings came at the same time as the bill, and noodle mains were served after I paid the bill. Waitress waiting for me to give her my change as a tip which made me to take it all back and put into my pocket. Which resulted in the waiting slamming plates and cutlery on the neighbouring table.
Our exit was disturbed by a performance of noodle pulling with super loud music which was salt added to our wounds as we could only look at our own plate of noodles with bursting stomachs and not even appreciate this talented chefs wonderful creation.
On our exit we noticed about 5 huge sections of separate diners. Perhaps not spreading diners so much would help the wait stuff be more attentive to...
Read moreStay away! First of all the waitress set the tables by throwing the plates and cutlery onto the table hoping they in some way got in front of the person they were meant for. I honestly have not seen that even in the most local restaurants. It took 20 mins for them to bring 2 bowls of rice after reminding them 3 times. The food was cold by the time the rice came. We went for the Peking duck, but after waiting for an hour they only gave me half a duck as they got my order wrong then the waitress told me to wait another hour. Really?! Naturally I cancelled the order and asked for the bill. She offered dessert as compensation but it wasn't going to get rid of the bad taste in my mouth. Totally ruined the mood for the evening. Service was so bad and they were clearly understaffed. My suggestion to the restaurant is that if they don't have enough staff, don't open all your sections because you just end up with disappointed customers who...
Read moreLove this restaurant. We had the most popular item which seemed to be ordered by nearly every table which was the 8 course peking duck set menu and were not left disappointed.
The starters were okay but the rest of the courses were amazing. I loved the deep fried sweet and sour fish that is cut in a way that all the bones are separated from the fish. I’ve seen before but it never fails to stun. The peking duck was excellent too.
It was extremely busy but we didn’t feel rushed and it will still a good level of background noise to chat. The colour of the walls is very interesting!
It’s a bit tricky to get here as only one of the lifts goes up to this floor but it’s right above Sha Tin station so great for meeting friends...
