It’s a new place, so unless you get there within five minutes of opening (noon), you’ll have to wait at least an hour until the first tables finish their meals. The pastas take 20-30 minutes to start coming out the first round.
My general impression is five stars for the interior design, the presentation, four stars for the service, and three stars for the actual food.
The dishes and the place itself are highly instagrammable. That’s important to some people.
Service is efficient. No real scowls or smiles, but this is not the forum for an essay on how smartphone ordering, electronic payments, and (soon) robot servers will dehumanize restaurant workers.
As for the food, there are two tranches of pasta in the lunch menu (see photos). The first kind are closer to $200. The second kind are closer to $100.
I can only speak to the first kind since that’s what I ordered. Frankly, at this price point, it was quite meh. Everything on the plate was underseasoned and rather bland. A sprig of fresh rosemary lit up tableside is no substitute for salt. The beef was cooked fully well done but not too dry due to the melty butter.
Tea decent, but amount of drinkable liquid is closer to a cocktail than a lunch drink.
Dessert tasted quite alright, but I question the decision to bury a fondant under ice cream and sauce. The point of a fondant is molten chocolate inside crusty chewy moist cake. Here, by the time it gets to your table, the whole thing has become rather soft since the ice cream and sauce have started to seep into the fondant. At least your camera...

The menu isnt as extensive as the one in Kwai Fong atm. ordered Orecchiette with Black Truffle Cream Sauce, Spicy Cheese Sauce Linguine with Shrimp, two add-ons (3) chicken wings and (4) sautéed garlic mushroom.
(1) Orecchiette with Black Truffle Cream Sauce: strong cheese flavor for cheese lover, but somehow overpower the black truffle, feeling a bit too heavy and filling up stomach space really soon
(2) Spicy Cheese Sauce Linguine with Shrimp: enjoyed the spiciness 🌶 not sure what contributes to the orangy red sauce as it doesnt taste like shrimp
(3) Chicken wings: quite good as expected
(4) Sautéed garlic mushroom: added mushroom to both pasta, and the garlic-ky taste gives a kick and extra layer of flavor to the cheesy-ness
The environment and interior is great! Staff are great too, love that the serve tea instead...
Read moreI don't understand the hype. I tried it out of curiosity, but it was quite disappointing. I ordered pasta and an iced tea and was charged 270 HKD; I expected something great for that price range. The pasta was quite bland and tasted as if it had just been microwaved (and the portion was very small as well). The quality of the ingredients seemed low. I really felt disappointed and kind of like I have been robbed.. For example, Pici next door offers better quality at a...
