2025: I visit HK once a year and am still so glad to see Soft Thunder around. Still have a very rich and tasty custard tart but with a phyllo pastry shell - a very positive change. The phyllo contrasts the dense custard well. The butterfly cookie is such a signature and tastes just as fascinating as its size. Keep up the great work!
2022: Wonderful selection of baked goods. Brought home an egg tart and a palmier, both which were delicious and fair priced. The signature unicorn puff (hazelnut) I bought kind of falling apart by the time I arrived home so I didn’t take a picture (but posted the one I took at the shop). The hazelnut paste was not too sweet which is good but the chocolate toppings are way too sweet. The worst part is the puff is not crispy but rather soft. Cinnamon roll - very oily and can hardly taste the cinnamon though it smells like cinnamon. The cozy ambiance made it the perfect place to grab a coffee and indulge in one (or two) of their delicious egg tarts.
The spacious layout is ideal for sitting down to relax, catching up on work, or inviting a friend to join you for a chat.
The egg tarts were simply divine, and the service was just as delightful. I couldn't help but admire their beautiful cakes—I'll definitely be returning to pick one up for the next birthday...
