Was excited to see the good reviews of this restaurant as being British I love a good curry. Unfortunately though the curry was not up to the recommendations on here. Massala tea was a let down and didn't have much flavour, the curry sauce was so so and the chapati's were nice but the most expensive I've ever paid (I think around $24-28 each) a rip off considering what they are.

The sour taste that was left in my mouth was from the absolute abysmal customer service. Worst I've had in a long while.

My friend and I were the only people in the restaurant but they didn't so much as smile. I tried to instigate a smile to the female owner who cold blank faced me. When I said goodbye she also completely ignored me and had a face like she'd been sucking a lemon for the last 5 years.

I will never go back to this place as the service was horrible and far from welcoming and nice but expensive chapatis are not a good enough excuse for me.

Prospective tasty Indian restaurant owners. Please open in K Town as there's a definite market as the current offerings are...

Came here to have some comfort food on my only day off this week. When I was still have my lunch, one of the waiter came and told me “ we going to close now” . There is better way to talk to customer and I find it very rude. Regarding the rest, If you want to go to the bathroom good luck as well, The toilet are outside so it was freezing out there and the toilet were not clean and sticky. The food is ok but for the price is way to expensive. The service needs to be better. Not surprised it was almost empty with this service. I will definitely not come back as I got kick out. Thanks you for make me start the day with negative notes and...

I have been going to this restaurant for years and I very much like it. The food has been consistently good over the years, the menu is varied and comprehensive. The keema barns, chicken vindaloo, samosa, saag and mutter dishes are especially good. The restaurant is rarely very busy and often has a really nice ambiance. It is also very well located. The take out is just as good as fine in food. But I have to say, nowadays the service is terrible, wrong orders, does not listen, inappropriate waiting staff. Don't know what happened. Anyway I don't visit anymore...

It was overall of good value; the Clay Oven Indian Restaurant sounded very local to me in Cantonese making me feel doubtful, at first about the authenticity of their food. The naan bread and mutton was exceptionally good; but the samosas and poppadoms were average to me, as their thickness was quite unusual, and it was totally personal, while I like crispy ones better.

Just visited Clay Oven for the second time after two years. Somehow I've often overlooked the place because it's right next to a big construction site at the moment, but I will go more often in the future. The food is really high quality, you can taste the thoughtfulness that goes into selecting the spices. Their homemade paneer was especially great!

They provide better Indian food than in India. I have been living in India for 2 years and the food here is just better - better ingredients and quality. They will always just get the best portion of the food to serve! The only comment is that the food is not as spicy as in India that to fit more HK taste.
