Thai Special Restaurant — Restaurant in Hong Kong

Went after a hike where my only requirements for a place was no queue and no unreasonable amount of time for food to be served.

Ordered: two persons dinner set, chicken satay, garlic choi sum and mango sticky rice as dessert.

The two persons set dinner menu has a bit of everything and hits a lot of the classics: lettuce wrap, Tom yum soup, curry, pad Thai. Good for those who are indecisive. Overall the dishes were good: lettuce wrap were crisp and spicy; tom yum soup fragrant; pad Thai was good and like most pad Thai. The curry was the least impressive, with the shrimp and curry pretty divorced from each other.

We had 3 persons so we had an additional satay and veggie dish. Satay chicken was very good! The chicken wasn't super overcooked, although I would have liked more peanut taste in the sauce. Veggie stir fry was fair, good to eat but not something to gush about.

Mango sticky rice was yummy! It's not really mango season when I had it; I'd imagine the mango would be more lovely in summer. The portion was fair.

Price-wise, it's not the most expensive Thai food I've had. I didn't pay so I don't remember. Whoops.

An average Thai dining experience in Tsuen Wan. Restaurant is spacious and seating is comfortable, but the good things about this place stops there. The food is mediocre and execution left much to be desired. The chicken satay was decent, while the pork satay was dry. The beef short ribs were flavorful but way too oily. The stir fried vegetables came out just lukewarm and the shrimps were devoid of seasoning. The chicken was not terribly and the portion was generous. All in all, I would only pick this place if there was nowhere else to eat nearby and that was the exact situation I found myself in when...

Negative 500 stars should be given and authorities should be called. While eating there, I found half a cockroach in my fried rice. By the time I saw the creature I already ate some of the rice. This is utterly insane. I showed the waiter this and they made me a new dish, which I left untouch.
