Food is amazing and that’s why I am giving an extra star. However, the service was horrible throughout the whole night. The staff is poorly trained, our server especially.

We were in the large private room. Before the dinner even started, our server was coming in and out of our room multiple times when there was no action. At one point, all of us (4 of us at the time while we were waiting for 8 other guests to arrive) looked up and stared at him just to see what he was up.

After the dinner started, we reminded our server that some of our guests (Asian faces but not from HK) did not know Cantonese so English for explaining the dishes was preferred. He did speak English when we requested on the spot but then he forgot about it. We had to remind him 2-3 times throughout the night. During service, the staff crew was probably undertrained because they seem quite disorganized, the serving order was random, water pouring skill was terrible (splashed everywhere and no wiping after), our wine glasses were not filled in a timely manner.

The staff crew was also not aware of who the host was and came to ask me if the birthday cakes should be served or packed. I pointed at my friend and said “you should ask the host”. I was pretty sure my friend requested to serve the cake but the staff packed up the cake and handed over to us instead. The whole staff crew looked like they were ready to kick us out and get off work. If time was really the concern, they should have reminded us before hand. But they did not.

Towards the end of the meal, one of the staff (not our main server) even accidentally bumped my friend’s head with his tray. I understand it was not intentional and he was also in pain as he also hurt himself but he should have showed his concern to the guest in the first place.

There were so many more incidents that I would love to share but think the above is enough for now. I really did enjoy the food but I would not go back if the service is not improved. Mosu should really train their staff starting...

4.5 stars. I had their vegetarian menu and I’m happy they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements.

What I liked: I have to highlight the small bites here. What a start to the meal! All 4 of the small bites were so delicious. As a category, this was very cohesive and well done. The burnt cream sauce of the mushroom dish was absolutely fantastic. The gosaei casted iron pot rice was seasoned so well, best rice ever, especially paired with the side dishes. My favourite dish had to be the toasted sesame tofu. It was so silky soft and I couldn’t wrap my head around how they got it to look like a xiaolongbao? And there’s eggplant inside too?! Sign me up for more.

What I didn’t like as much: I found it a bit confusing that I got two carby meals and I wasn’t sure which one was the main course. Both the noodles and rice tasted great but I was definetely very full by the end. If they wanted to keep both they could possibly decrease the portion sizes for the carbs? One of the noodle plates also had a smudge of dirty food on it (pictured) I found the massangyi soup to be a bit average. At least compared to the other delectable dishes, this one wasn’t as memorable I can’t lie, my least favourite category was the small sweets desserts. It wasn’t a cohesive category. I liked the pudding a lot, but the rest were not my favourite. I’m not usually a fan of sour food, so I found the ice cream (the one plate with half full ice cream only) to be too sour. And the other salty grass was supposed to compliment the sweetness of the ice cream but I just didn’t like the grass at all. The traditional Korean snack also stuck to my teeth a lot.

Overall, I think this place lives up to its name and definetely worth a visit. Even though there were things I didn’t like as much, I still would come back to try different seasonal dishes. And the dishes that I liked were just so top-tier good that I have to come...

As I write this review, Mosu Hong Kong is rated only 4.4/5 on Google maps. And it is the most unfairly rated high-end restaurants I’ve been to. It deserves to be at minimum a 4.8/5, but my personal experience was a 5/5.

Note that I put an alert on futur reservation opening 4 months ahead of time, and booked immediately to get my reservation. Getting a booking isn’t always easy.

Every dish was memorable. Incredible work on the texture and flavors, perfect balance and sublimation of the ingredients. We really loved all the dishes. The quantities were also perfect, we left full but not to the point where we feel bad.

The service was great. We had the luck to have the general manager as our sommelier. She was very aware and friendly. Wine pairing was also superb.

The pace of the serving was perfect and efficient which we really appreciated. We barely had to wait for the next dishes, waiters were aware when we’d finish our food.

The restaurant’s view is quite nice too.

In my opinion, the price was also affordable for this type of restaurant, which probably has the same quality as his other 3 Michelin stars restaurant in South Korea. We paid approximately 280€ per guest with current change without counting the wine pairing. In France or the US, this kind of restaurant is usually double to triple the price.

Not sure if that’s relevant but I lived in Seoul for over a year, and tried a lot of 1 to 3 Michelin stars restaurants around the world. Mosu was closed for a good amount of time there in Seoul, so my trip to Hong Kong was for me a good opportunity to try it, and I’m glad I did. This restaurant in Hong Kong also deserves a few stars.

I strongly...

Price: the tasting menu is 1980 + 10% per head. That is extremely expensive for one meal. Food: the cuisine is Korean inspired / Korean sourced ingredients. I would describe it as Korean fusion. All dishes were objectively tasty but none really wowed. Each course fluctuates between being heavily seasoned and showcasing the natural flavours of the ingredients so it feels a bit disjointed. Ambience: The ceiling lights are pretty but they are CONSTANTLY dimming and brightening. Frankly it’s quite disturbing when you’re experiencing this for your entire meal. Felt nauseating. Service: excellent service. Staff were familiar with the menu and it’s preparation. why 3 stars? Multiple times they checked on dietary requirements before the reservation. I don’t eat beef and told them this. Hence an option for venison was added as a main which I selected. We then ordered an extra dish (clay pot rice with 3 types of Korean grains and broccoli for $420). The rice came (nothing special at all) and it was accompanied by a few side dishes served on one plate together. One of the side dishes was beef. When I mentioned this to the staff, they were unapologetic and I could sense they were impatient as we were the last table left in the restaurant. When the replacement sides came, I was provided with a mere few slices of pickled pepper (compared to the original side of beef, tomato, leek and other legumes). This was completely unacceptable to me.

We had an unforgettable evening at Mosu Hong Kong, where modern Korean fine dining meets world-class hospitality and an unbeatable Victoria Harbour view. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance, the beautiful drum centerpiece, and the city skyline set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The tasting menu was a masterclass in precision and creativity — from the delicate toasted sesame tofu to the comforting chadolbagi brisket “Guk”, the elegant tilefish with corn and black garlic, and the fragrant butterfish with pine bud and goji berry. Each plate was beautifully plated and thoughtfully composed, striking the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. One of the highlights was the ember roasted acorn noodle luxuriously topped with shaved black truffle — earthy, aromatic, and utterly addictive. The Hanwoo & clam dish showcased deep, umami-rich flavors, while the small bites and petit fours at the end left a lasting impression. This was also our first time enjoying two special makgeollis throughout a meal — the No. 3 Jiranjigyo and the exclusive Ellyeop Pyunjoo. Both were unlike any we’ve had before: nuanced, elegant, and a perfect match for the dishes. Between the stunning harbor views, refined dishes, and exceptional beverage pairings, Muso delivered a truly memorable dining journey. A must-visit for anyone seeking a modern, elevated take on Korean cuisine in Hong Kong.

I recently dined at Mosu, and while the experience had its highlights, it ultimately left me feeling underwhelmed, especially given the price tag. Food The dishes were decent but not remarkable. We shared a hot dish featuring various fish, which was a pleasant surprise. However, at 4800 for two people—without wine and just a bottle of sparkling water—I found the prices to be quite steep for what we received. Location The restaurant's location is less than ideal, but the night view across the harbor is stunning. Despite the rain that evening, the scenery added a nice touch to our dinner. Service and Communication: What truly marred the experience was the booking and communication process. I reserved our table almost two months in advance and made the payment online, expecting a smooth experience. Instead, I received a reminder two days before our reservation that felt more like a warning: "*The table will be held for 15 minutes after the scheduled booking time, at which point the table will be released.*" This message came off as awkward and blunt, lacking the warmth one would hope for in a dining experience. In summary, while the view and some aspects of the food were enjoyable, the overall experience did not justify the high cost, especially with the poor communication leading up to our dinner. I likely won't be returning.
