I am a frequent patron of Pizza Max, and found the restaurant one day by accident walking by. I now go there regularly because it is small, an adequate walk from my home in TST (appetite builder), and usually a small crowd, not noisy or too busy, etc. Being alone I like to sit at the front table near the street and people watch, or read a book or study personal business notes. That is the atmosphere of Pizza Max. Some days there are large table reservations for groups & it is still always pleasant even if alone. The owner/manager Max has been very welcoming since Day 1, and the Nepalese hospitality continues with the wait staff currently - Suvechchha & Suza in the early afternoon. Usually, a rating involves 3 categories: Food, Service, and Ambience. The Food (Western, Italian, Indian) is good to excellent and very tasty and of good quality; along with reasonable pricing. I have tried Chicken Mo Mo, Samosa, Naan bread, Pizza, Lasagna, Seafood Pasta, Rotisserie Chicken, etc. It is prepared well and the presentation is great ! The Service is very important to me, with smiles and small talk very warming ... i.e., not just a restaurant, but a 2nd home and an inviting atmosphere. The Ambience is, as I have said, small and friendly. The location is also good between Austin and Jordan Roads on Shanghai. I see it as the middle ground between Kowloon Park and the wilder old street feel of Temple Market. So, my hats off to the staff and food found at Pizza Max ......
Read moreI was looking for a decent pizza place when hopping around Jordan MTR area with my friend! Googling, I found a couple of looking-ok place and chose this based on the favorable long review available here, when I didn’t know I would be another one writing another. The atmosphere was absolutely comfortable in a classic and somehow professional way with such nice decorations! What was more, the owner was very kind, he knew his stuff and I was so happy that my friend had one of the best moments in HK, commenting that the food itself was even better than our expectation! We had a fresh avocado salad and a Large pizza, which we thought was too big for two; we were found wrong. Anyways, I will absolutely visit this place with my special ones! And thanks to the owner for the generosity that filled my wine glass and my friend’s coke glass another round without charge!!!(hope you don’t have to do this to everyone visiting you after reading this comment) Oh! BTW, the price doesn't do justice to the food and a good hospitality we are offered...
Read moreWell I finally made it to Pizza Max Bistro. The menu of which I've taken a picture of every page for you to look is eclectic. Pizza, curry, MoMo steamed or crispy fried with a rather spicy chilli sauce.
Burgers, chicken wings with blue cheese and lots of other items making up a rather large menu full of variety and tantalising dishes to satisfy your every whim.
The pork knuckle was so scummy and quickly vanished before our eyes as did all the other dishes we enjoyed that evening.
Dessert was chocolate brownie and ice-cream en flambé
Along with copious drinks - the Margarita's are pdf there, everyone else was drinking pints and we enjoyed a shot or two of Japanese whisky as well.
The bill was around HK$500 per person, pretty reasonable for a group gathering to catch up with friends on a Monday night.
This is a place that you must visit and try some of the delightful items on their menu, we were a group of 7 ...
