We stayed in a triple room (with an extra bed) on 10th floor 24-27 April 2018. Upon entering, I detected a bad odor. Mum arranged the extra bed nicely so that we could walk on a tiny gap between the two beds (double and single) and the extra bed to the main door and washroom.||Two tiny lifts worked well for the first two nights. On our third night, Wifi was down.||Staff were friendly and helpful.||We were given two vouchers of HKD 30 each to be spent at their hotel restaurants. I was excited to scroll through their menus only to be told that I must spend a minimum of HKD100 to use one voucher. So we decided to dine at restaurants nearby. ||About the location, it is close to restaurants (selling claypot rice, noodles, seafood, chicken and duck rice, dimsum etc) and Temple Market.||Dim sum and porridge are priced at HKD 22 per basket (minimum price), noodles in the range of 32- 45 per bowl.||Do find out a wet market nearby -Yau Ma Tei market - 400 m from the hotel. Drop by a coffee shop and you will get a same bowl of springy noodles (better than the one I had) at HKD 20 (wanton or beef noodles). There are stalls selling roasted pork, chicken and duck as well||For those who are travelling on tight budget, I would recommend you to stay near to a wet market. You will be amazed at the food pricing in the market.||||Yau Ma Tei theatre built in 1930 is nearby too, for those who loves history and wanting to watch Chinese Opera, it is a must visit historical spot.||||Shops selling kitchen utensils including extra large chopping board definitely would catch your attention.||||There is a bus stop getting to airport - about 80m from the hotel. Forget about the hassles dragging your lugage to Central MTR Station, walking to Hong Kong Station to catch Airport Express at HKD110 per adult (cheaper if for 2 ppl). Bus fare (A21 bus) to airport...
Read moreFor the price, I think the hotel is pretty damn good. A few blocks away from the MTR station and Jade Market. Temple Street is also a walking distance away. There is a halal kebab stand nearby (Turkeyeno) and halal roadside food dining (MyKitchen) too for those with Halal dietary restrictions. Kings Hotel is one of the few that looks presentable from the outside. The room I got was spacious! Cleanliness could’ve been better with regular vacuuming since it’s carpeted for the most parts. But it isn’t that bad. Bins are cleared, towels replaced and beds made on a daily basis (unless otherwise requested). Toilet is decent in terms of cleanliness and toiletries offered (i love their shampoo). The housekeeping staff was nice and friendly, concierge isn’t that bad too and can speak English quite fluently. One of the downside is that the stalls nearby that open up at night run late until around midnight. I stayed at the second floor so I had to put up with the noise. It wasn’t so much a problem for me though since I usually stay up till late but if you think this will be an issue, bring earplugs. Overall, awesome stay in this hotel! Would stay in this accommodation if I ever...
Read moreWould only suggest to someone who is really don’t mind with DIRTY room but good location hotel. Personally I will give 1 star or even lower. The room is so so so disgusting & dirty. The stain mold is everywhere in the bathroom, the sink, the toilet bowl is all dirty. Visible stains on the room mirror, walls & flooring. Worst is the bedsheet, mostly stained. IT FEELS LIKE THOUSAND OR MILLION OF PPL SLEPT ON IT, & the owner of this business doesn’t bother to upgrade or do the maintenance work. I’ve requested front desk to changed a new bedsheet on the 2nd night with them, the front desk told me they have already changed it. However the same yellowish stain, still there :) the front desk told me they’ve asked cleaner & cleaner confirmed it got changed & I said if it’s changed why still got stain. She answered, maybe sheets already exist hard stains which can’t even get rid from long time…. 😃 Felt like I paid for super budget hotel… however my nightly rate was Rm650+...
