I have not been to the wet market for about 5 years. However it keeps showing up on Google maps that I was there last week. So today I made a purpose visit to the wet market. A Sunday is probably not the best day to go to the wet market. Because The people who work there like everyone else they like to have a day off as well. However all is not lost, they will always be some shops open and today there was I only visited the ground floor and it was seafood and there's a couple of shops at the entrances that have all manner of items you may buy but mostly dry goods fresh goods for seafoods meat beef also. Often it's a very good restaurant at the top of the wet markets. I will look into that another time. These buildings have an all-round purpose. These indoor markets sell all manner of items. Where there is a market indoor market I should say you would normally find the public service facilities are in the same building so there are toilets and showers available to the public. Note, these are not western style facilities although they may be a couple of sit down commodes for the toilets most are squats. Plus these buildings serve as a rubbish collection point as well. Possibly not things you want to know about YMT wet market or market but useful information...

Most stalls owed by local shop keepers. e.g. an outdoor stall sells traditional wedding accessories which include pairs of double old coconuts with red or golden chinese characters of “Double Happiness”. The coconuts mean grandfather & grandson. They simbolise good blessings with many offsprings. In recent years, there’re increasing shops selling rare vegi & fruits. Some speak Thai, Indian as wells. Why not sit down, taste the Milk Tea, French Toast, Dim Sum or Pineapple Bun & experience the Old Hong Kong feel...
