Staff and service were bad. The place was completely empty when we ate there and I can see why now. Weird moment was a staff rang a cow bell loudly at the end of the play session even though my kid was the only one in there. It was unnecessary and super loud. The food is presentable, but the sauce for the salmon egg rice was totally bland and tasteless. One staff member was judgmental about the fact my 1-year old doesn’t use a fork on her own yet. Another one kept freaking out that my kid was taking a toy out of the play area and to our table. They refused to let me add $40 HKD to extend the playtime even though it was clearly marked that was the price for extending the time. When I asked why they said because my kid was going from the play area to the table too much and that’s against the rules; she would need to disinfect everything each time my kid crossed the invisible line between the play area and our table. How ridiculous! Even Mr. Tree restaurant allows free roaming between the play area and the dining tables. What they wanted was for me to cage my kid in the play area for 30 minutes, which is totally unrealistic and defeats the purpose of a kid friendly play area smack in the middle of the restaurant. We were literally the ONLY diners in the whole empty place (no wonder) and clearly she was the only kid in the restaurant, so it was all very off-putting. Great concept, crappy execution of the concept and a fake kid friendly place. I told them I would be posting a review about how unreasonable they are and the staff said ok go ahead! Shaking my head… do they want even want any business?? 😂 This place will go out of business soon...
Read moreFood: average quality Service: intimidating. Military-style management of a play area. I booked my kids for a specific half-hour playtime, we got to the play area a bit earlier but I only let the kids inside on the dot of specific play time. 15 mins later, staff rings a cow-bell loudly to shoo us out. I inform her that our play-time booking specifically says 30 mins. She first questions when we entered. We answer, yet she roasts us if we went in before the specified time. She later realises her timer is for another kid. But doesn't apologise, instead she says "I'll LET you play for another 14 mins" as if she's bestowing a blessing onto us. In the meantime, my son is struggling with a costume malfunction, I lean in to help him, stepping 1cm on their carpet. The same staff swoops in demanding very loudly "Don't step on our carpet, you will dirty it!!" Our kids lunch set includes a capsule toy. I purposely avoid previous army staff and find another staff to kindly retrieve a capsule toy. Again, need to present receipt to prove we're eligible for said holy toy. Then staff reluctantly finds a coin to operate capsule dispenser, no eye contact at all as if we're not worthy of her service.
We never dare set foot in this place again. Sorry staff for disturbing your holiness!
P.S. I guess I got a certain sense of relief that staff weren't specifically offending to just me. Two primary school girls came in to play after us without their parents' accompaniment. The staff later found their parents and barked a military command about...
Read moreVery nicely decorated Japanese restaurant featuring eggs in Olympic City. We were here for lunch and they said the meal time is 90 minutes but the place was quite empty so we actually stayed for over two hours. They offer lunch sets starting from $78. Each set comes with a salad, a soup and a main course. You can add a drink for $8 or more. We ordered a chicken and egg rice, and a salmon and avocado rice. Food is quite good here and they offer play-time in the kid's play-space if you purchase a certain meal set. Quite a nice and safe place to let a kid play in while the parents can have a...
