Overall, I have to say that I was disappointed with my visit. While the food was average, the service was not up to par.
I had ordered the tonkatsu, which is a popular Japanese dish consisting of a breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet. However, it was not as good as I had hoped it would be.
Back in the day, the tonkatsu here used to be juicy and extremely hot, but now it's only mediocre. Another dish I tried was the deep-fried oyster, but it wasn't fresh and tasted fishy.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. When my salad was served, it wasn't the one I had ordered. I assumed that it came with the lunch set, so I ate a little bit of it. It was only later that the waitress realized her mistake and informed me that it was not the salad I had ordered. However, instead of apologizing and immediately fixing the mistake, she stood there, stared at me, silently waited for me to offer a solution for her. lol
Overall, this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. While the food was passable, the poor service really detracted from the...
Read moreOnly ate there one time during my last visit to HK. Assuming you are not a local / regular, then don't make the mistake I made, get the limited Kagoshima Thick Cut Pork Loin if it's available. We got the special set for two + scallops and upgraded miso soup. The set comes with two types of pork, the normal loin and the "premium" cut (not Kagoshima). The normal cut is, well, very normal. But the premium cut is definitely something above and beyond the normal cut in terms of the tenderness, taste, and overall sensation (much more noticeable contrast between the batter and the tender meat). Having said that, I can only imagine what the special limited edition Kagoshima pork would taste like. I was literally kicking myself for not ordering it. Get it, if they have it (there is a daily limit).
Their miso soup is also great. One of our soups was upgraded with added pork meat... one of the best tasting miso soup I had.
Staff were generally helpful and friendly. No...
Read moreCame here to have my last meal prior to the airport. Ordered Oyster with Tonkatsu Loin and Kagoshima Premium Royal Pork Loin Tonkatsu. They will give you sesame and you have to grind into smaller pieces and mix with Tonkatsu sause. This place you can get unlimited rice and salad filled up. For the salad, it comes with two sause grapefruit and seaweed sauce. Both sauces are good. The set also comes with miso soup and a fruit. This is the best Tonkatsu I had in my life. Very crispy both top and bottom the meat is so juicy and soft. I tried both Tonkatsu Lion and Premium one. The regular Lion one is less fatty as Premium. If you are eating healthy like me, stick with regular lion. End of the day, you can't tell much different except for the fatty part. For the oyster, I feel it is it very fresh too. Although the price is expensive but I think...
