The Starview — Restaurant in Kowloon

This restaurant was a banquet hall for weddings with a balcony suitable for the ceremony. The view was spectacular. It offered dim sum lunch. The service was very good. A big bowl of hot water was given for sterilizing the tableware, which was the common practice of local people. When the hot water bottle was accidentally tilted and hot water was pouring out, waitresses were attentive and changed the two table clothes immediately. At one time of visit, the ordered dim sum was not delivered, but another non-ordered item was placed on the table after careful confirmation. The quality of dim sum was above average. “Iberico” bbq pork was falsely advertised as it was not marbled at all; instead chunks were extremely lean and others were extremely fatty to the point it was disgusting. Crispy pork belly was extremely tough so I don’t think the meat was actually from the belly (just because it has the crispy skin doesn’t mean it’s from the belly). Grouper chunks steamed with mushrooms and egg fried rice had only a few piece and some pieces were too salty while others had no taste.

Papaya taro soup was the only pleasant dish we tried.

Service was extremely slow. Views were nice. Tables were spaced apart well. Probably would not come...

After confirming my entire reservation via WhatsApp, I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes early. Staff abruptly told us they were closed for a private event and rudely turned us away. I immediately messaged them again on WhatsApp — only to be told their colleague had mistaken the date. This was an extremely unpleasant experience.
