It is entirely possible that I simply did not know what the "correct" dishes were to order. We (two people) ordered mussels, the lamb chop special, and a cheesy crab dish. I literally picked this restaurant for the mussels, which were broiled and served open-faced, not steamed. We received 6 mussels. I ate 1. They were not great. My wife liked the crab dish, so I have to give the restaurant 2 stars. However, I paid 200 Macau Dollars for the Lamb Special, which was 3 lamb chops. No sides. No veg. No carb. Just 3 chops. Now, the chops were tasty (which, again, is part of why I'm giving this place 2 stars), but seriously? 200 Macau Dollar for 3 lamb chops is $30 USD (or $10 USD per. lamb. chop.)
Next, the restaurant had the air conditioning on, even though the weather was almost 0 degrees Celsius. I never took my coat off. Several of my fellow diners wore their winter hats and coats at their dinner tables. The atmosphere doesn't even deserve the 1 star I'm giving it.
Finally, when you sit down, the waitress will ask you to log into a Chinese app called Da Zhong Dian Ping and leave a positive review, for which you receive a free dessert. While I can appreciate the marketing savvy, I should have taken this as a sign that the restaurant is NOT able to capitalize on it's excellent location and "quality" food to bring in customers.

Read moreSecluded Portuguese cuisine, I was quite sceptical at first as there are only a number of suggested restaurants on the internet for African aka Macanese chicken. We ordered the infamous baked duck rice and the African chicken, it took sometime to arrive and expected because the chicken and the rice had to be baked. It was worth the wait. The rice was baked in the essence of the duck, if you had the Chinese Hainanese chicken rice, it's similar but oozes in the fragrant of the duck juice as you break the top layer of the rice. The chicken, well baked, tender, the herbs in the sauce is not over powering, it is my first time to try the African chicken, it is not spicy at all so don't sorry for those who is fooled by the colour of the sauce.
There are many things I want to try on the menu, looks like I need to return to try the clamps and the braised oxtail....
Read moreWe ordered Bacalhau rolls, white wine clams which recommended by the waitress, sardines (3 in a plate with salads), garlic cabbage and vegetable potato soup. All tasted very good!!! Except the Bacalhau rolls just a bit dry but the taste is good though. I really like the olives that in the salads and the free snack (pig ear with vinegar also taste very good). Portion is reasonable for the price. The skin of the BBQ sardines is crunchy and the fish meat is juicy, very delicious! The broth and fresh clams of the white wine clams is something you would like to have again and again! Two thumbs up! It really a gem in that area if you like Portuguese foods. Even their give away desserts are taste pretty good! Last but not least, the waitresses there are very nice and helpful. Highly...
