San Tung Fong Commerical Inn South Wing — Hotel in Sé

I don‘t the 10/10 ratings.- The hotel is filled with cigarette smoke smell as soon as you enter. Even though the room is non-smoking and fines apply, the stench is overwhelming. I wouldn't want to stay there even for a moment. Looks as if previous guests (or the guests smoked the time ago where it was still allowed) smoked in the room. It was awful, the entire bed linen stink of smoke (most probably of the wallpaper that absorbed the odour).Since it's a non-smoking room, the smell of cold cigarette smoke is absolutely a big no-no! Please, hotel owner, carefully review and strictly enforce the no-smoking policy, and change the wallpapers.- Further my room was located next to the elevator that could be heard all the time.- The empoyee at the reception did not speak speak English very well (so it was not understood that the room had a strong smell of cold smoke).Let's also talk about the positives things:+ The location is excellent, right on Rua da Cidade de Sintra, with convenient transportation and affordable prices. There's a supermarket downstairs, and it's also convenient for visiting the night market.+ The room is spacious, and the amenities are decent quality, including a refrigerator, hairdryer, and TV. There's card access and a swipe card in the elevator. The air conditioning is well, and there's a do-not-disturb light. And 2 free bottles of drinking water, slippers, and bathroom gear...

It has the potential to be excellent, but it isn't. Don't stay here if you don't like cigarette smell and noise.

We stayed here two nights in April 2018. I booked it because it's completely new and it seemed to have a decent price quality ratio (713 MOP per night, taxes included, without breakfast).

The first night they put us in room 102, right next to the reception. ALL night guests, but also the receptionist, were making a lot of noise, which made it very difficult to sleep. Asking them to be quiet didn't help. They just gave us a weird look. If you stay here, don't stay in room 102! Tip to the hotel, build a soundproof wall with a door between the guest rooms' corridor and the reception.

We asked a room change and were moved to the fifth floor. Much more silent but the whole corridor, including the room, smelled cigarette smoke. I guess the smell came from the airconditioning. Weird, because it's forbidden to smoke in the hotel... but chinese smoke everywhere, anytime, I guess.

On the upside, rooms are new and reasonably clean (although, they don't clean under the bed, where I found used tissues etc.). New bathroom. You get 2 free bottles of...
