熱馳名雙皮燉奶 Double Skin Steamed Milk Pudding (Hot) = HKD32.00 熱巧手薑汁撞奶 Ginger Steamed Milk Pudding (Hot) = HKD35.00 No Service Charge
Yee Shun Milk Company 義順牛奶公司 is another Famous Hong Kong Milk Pudding Franchise. The one i'm at is actually their Original First Store at Macau where its Original Name is actually "Leitaria I Son". Apparently this Brand has been around for 150 years, and its currently their 8th Generation Owner taking care of the Business.
Walking into this Eatery almost feels like entering a Museum as it has a Very Old School 1960s sort of look. The Staffs are Friendly and Welcoming and we had a Nice Time Chit-Chatting about its History. 2nd Storey is where the Restroom and their Storehouse is, and there was also a Huge Collection of Antiques that I understand were their Boss's Private Collection.
熱馳名雙皮燉奶 Double Skin Steamed Milk Pudding (Hot) = HKD32.00
Their Famous Double Skin Milk Pudding comes in either Hot or Cold. It really is Super Soft, again Softer than our Singapore Tau Huay, and I feel is Softer than even Australia Dairy Company. The Milky Taste however I feel is Milder than Australia Dairy Company. Both are Good in their Own Way.
It comes Default as Sweet, although not as Overly Intensely Sweet as Australia Dairy Company's Version. Again I'm a little disappointed there wasn't a choice for No Sugar. But it is still very Delicious. The Double Skin here refers to a Layer of Thin Milk Skin that they have on the Top of the Pudding which I think is a result of their Unique Steaming Process.
熱巧手薑汁撞奶 Ginger Steamed Milk Pudding (Hot) = HKD35.00
薑汁撞奶 or Ginger Milk Pudding is actually a Classic Cantonese Dessert and you can actually make this at home yourself. I have personally made this myself too. The process makes use of Ginger Juice's enzymes and binds it together into a Texture that looks and feels really similar to Tau Hway (豆花).
The Ginger Milk Pudding looks Noticeably Yellower than their Double Skin Milk Pudding and the Ginger Taste is Very Prominent. There is Sugar Added, but because of the Overpowering Taste of Ginger, it almost Completely Subdues the Sweetness. Tasting this is abit like tasting a "Tau Huay Version of Teh Halia" if it makes any sense.
Because I've made this before, I know they used ALOT of Real Ginger in 1 Bowl because this really tastes Very Gingery. And in fact in the 2nd Floor of their Storehouse, they actually do keep Cartons of Ginger so you know they are using Real Ingredients and not some Fake Extract. Really is 真材实料.
If you are here, try do "The Spoon Test". That is, when you put a Spoon on top of your Pudding, it should be firm enough to still be able to hold without breaking. Both Bowls here Passed the Test with Flying Colours as you can see. This is the Mark of a True Milk Pudding.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At around HKD35.00 (S$6.10) for a Bowl each, I feel this is a Reasonable Price to pay for the Quality.
I really enjoyed my time here. The place itself felt like it had some history and I appreciated that the Staffs are Very Friendly.
I personally prefer the Ginger Milk Pudding because I like the Gingery Spiciness myself. Also because this is the one that tastes Less Sweet compared to their Double Skin Version.
If you would like to try some Authentic HK Milk Pudding, this is a Franchise I can recommend to visit. If you can, do come to their Original 1st Store at Macau where you can really feel the History. Highly Recommended!

Read moreService-This is the reason I'll not come here. Lousy service. With a few open table, they intentionally put people in our table to share so they can push us out. (we were almost done but just not cool to do that). It's common practice of HK and Macau (茶餐廳). And while you pay, pay attention to the boss lady. She's totally arrogant. 🙄
Milk custard - Comes with hot and cold. I prefer hot because the milk flavor seems richer to me.
We have been coming here for last 30 years. We tried many of them on the west coast United States, Vancouver, they do have the best. Sadly, with our experience of their bad service and attitude, we still couldn't find a replacement.
Red bean drink with coconut milk and ice cream - personally, I like the texture experience with solid red bean instead of the mushy one. There is another place around the corner that did a better job and even more coconuty than this guy. It's not bad but I've got a better...

Yee Shun is famous for the milk pudding treats served in a bowl. You can also find quick, cheap egg and toast style Cantonese breakfasts and even Macau Style pork buns at Yee Shun. I find their other food items sort of meh! Best to eat proper food elsewhere. However, the milk pudding is sweet, cool and rather tasty.
They have English menus, just ask. Tables are small and they do try to cram in a lot of customers, with quick turn over. Be ready to share tables, a common practice in our local restaurants. It can be quite crowded at midday as this is a very busy area and this is a popular place with locals and visitors eager to try famous old...
