This is a restaurant has a long history here in Shatin area, at least over 35 years. haven't visited them for a long time. As a traditional Chinese restaurant , they still served standard Dim Sum but will not give you any surprise. I think they also had the problem of shortage of manpower , the service was so limited...... Having lunch here has brought back many memories !

Wasn't clear if you should seat yourself on entrance. Not many staff available. Dim sum was in traditional trolleys but didn't taste fresh (surprising as they'd only been open 10 minutes) and was expensive for the poor quality, other branches we tried following it were better quality. Restaurant itself was clean and well kept, if you must try it, go later in the morning and not first thing. Didn't get upset stomach but also didn't enjoy the food or experience.

Maxim’s Palace is one of the best Dim Sum restaurants in Sha Tin. It is together with the New Town Plaza at Sha Tin Town Hall. The dining room is beautiful, with lovely views if your table is close to the windows. However, the qualities of the Dim Sum are just average. The service is a little slow. It looks like they are also affected by the labor shortage!

Good traditional style dim sum. It's very simple. Start by taking a ticket from the machine by the entrance (for your queue number) if there is a line. Then you can order dishes from the menu at the table and you can go to the carts and choose what you want (there is English text as well). Bring the stamp card to the cart.

Probably one of the best Dim Sum places in Shatin. Had tried the one on the 7th floor of the plaza (not there anymore). This is truely one of the authentic experiences. Except you have to go to the cart in the middle of the room because it can't reach you! Not too exxy compared to some other HK restaurants!

The higher end of dim sum dining. Some dishes are familiar to me and some are not. Nothing really jumps out at me as being exceptional. Dishes here I rate as average. Staff are friendly and have an understanding of English. 9 dishes including 2 Cokes, Chinese tea totalled to $650hkd equivalent to $128aud.
