Café Circles — Restaurant in Tsuen Wan District

Relatives from Singapore visiting HK were staying at this hotel. We had the Crab Fiesta themed dinner buffet on a Friday night. Fewer customers that night because Typhoon Saola was also in town ~ 😅

The buffet spread got nice choices, including a variety of crabs, abalone, roast, dessert and etc. Each customer was served a hot streamed Hairy Crab, small in size, but there were a good amount of creamy roe. Overall, while the number of dishes served might not be as abundant as other buffets of the same price range in town, the quality of ingredients was excellent and the cooking was delightful. Every dish I tried was finely prepared; no serving of mediocre dishes just to fill the buffet counter.

Tips: I found that direct booking on the official site offered discount. But I googled more, and got a lovely “buy 2 get 2 free” flash sale package on a certain...

It was my second time dining at the Cafe Circles. Everything was well organised. I love how they separated different food corners and the presentation of their dessert section was stunning, not to mention their cakes and desserts were delicious. The refill was sufficient with different cakes, cheesecakes, pudding, tiramisu, I didn't get bored with their dessert choices. The sashimi was ok and pretty ordinary, salmon, tuna, no prawn, scallop. Both their cold dishes and hot dishes were great, snow crab legs, prawns, mussels, clams, salads. I personally love their barbecues, and Canton BBQ pork and suckling pig. The duck livers were great too...what...

From a Western perspective (international buffet, $598 + service charge p.p.) it was very disappointing. Beef in red wine with taro! (potatoes please). Ceasar salad without bacon, chicken, parmesan, romaine leaves! (just limp lettuce and dressing). Very overcooked beef joint and lamb joint! (with gravy and either steamed rice or bread). Tandoori chicken in a Thai curry! (obviously left over from a previous menu). I could go on and on unfortunately. One redeeming quality were the staff, who were very polite...
