Capital Bagels — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

Since I arrived in Bogotá this was my favorite place to have breakfast. Until I realized that they were charging me more money than the menu said. When I confronted them, they gave me the excuse that the prices were being updated and that the prices on the menu are not the correct ones. So that actually give them the power of charge you whatever price they want. One day my oatmeal was 13,500($3.78) another day 14,500($4.06). And even thou they gave me a free breakfast for the difference of money, today i went back again and the oatmeal was 16,600($4.65) Honestly it’s not about the money, because before that I was satisfy with the service every time I came. But, Why they didn’t say that info in first place? I have traveled many countries and I had never seen a place where you order something from the menu at one price and get another price in the check. I was craving a bagel and this place fulfilled its purpose. However, there’s nothing special about it. I don’t understand the hype. The bagel was simply “okay” and to me felt comparable to a Dunkin’ bagel in Texas. I guess the reviews and pictures had me expecting something amazing.

The service is very poor. The waitress and the man at the cash register were not friendly at all and take forever to acknowledge you. The waitress literally tried her hardest to not make eye contact with you so she can avoid you.

The bathroom was kind of dirty, and it was right next to the kitchen so I took a peek and it looked disgusting back there.. oh well, that’s the case with many restaurants.

The atmosphere was very cute though. If you’re really craving a bagel, I guess this will do. But I would order ahead and pick it up unless you are fine with spending over...

The hope was big for this place but when we went there, things started going wrong.

service was bad and that’s not something I say often in Bogota where usually service is excellent.

Food was nothing like the pictures. I ordered a Grilled Cheese Monte Cristo and it was disappointing: one slice of ham with one slice of cheese on a big chunk of bread.

Coffee was terrible.

The only reason for my two star was because the Osaka Salad was the only good thing.
