Great coffee place but the coffee is expensive. I love coffee and walked by cafe 18 and decided to give it a try.
The coffee was very smooth and good. Mind you this is their base coffee they brewed mine with. The prices for the coffee you drink aren’t bad about average for the higher end coffee places. Had an almond croissant and actually was oneof the better ones I have had in bogota.
So their coffee you can buy. Obviously this coffee place is more for the tourist and the coffee prices reflect that. Not saying it’s bad coffee but some of the most expensive I have seen in bogota. I did buy a few bags to brew on my own to see the taste.
Is the price of this coffee worth it? I don’t know honestly until I try it and compare it to other brands of high quality but lower price. For now I would say it’s good, but pricey. Once I try the types I bought I will be able to tell you if the high prices are justified. For now I will say it is good to stop in and...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a very poor customer service experience. Cafe18 was one our first few stops after arriving in Bogota from the Unitied States. Its reputation for high quality coffee brought us in. However, after telling the Server that our phone service did not allow us to connect to their menu via the QR code he rudely told us that we were the only ones with this problem. Which was our point, but he did not seem to care as he proceeded to help several other customers before us before finally taking our order verbally without the help of the menu. We told him that we noticed how he helped others before us who came in after us, and this aggravated him and he told us we were being difficult and that he was not going to serve us, and then he walked away. We were left with no choice and had to leave. I would have definitely liked to enjoy Cafe18 coffee and would have purchased a few bags of whole bean coffee to share with...
Read moreGreat coffee but the coffee experience is unfortunately partly ruined by the very strong perfume in the air every time, it seems to come from the shop that shares the same location with only half a wall separating the two, or from someone trying to cover up some smells, and is so strong that you taste it in the air. I thought once was an exception and came back, but again could only enjoy half of the coffee. Really a waste. Also the 1980-90 music could have been less loud. When I asked if it was possible to lower it a bit I just got "No". Not even a "I'm sorry but". Try everything at least twice but not again. It's too pricey for this. You'll enjoy your coffee...
