I’ve stayed in Usaquen for a week and I decided to try some of the restaurants in the area. On a Wednesday walking on the Main Street at 8:40 pm, this restaurant looks pretty attractive with a nice ambiance from the outside. We ve asked if was still ok to get diner and girl at the door said yes no problem so she took us to a table in the back and there ve’ e waited for about 15 min and nobody ever came to attend us although the servers we re passing by back and forth but not even an eye contact like they were avoiding us on porpoise . So we ve decided to leave we ve told the security guy at the door about the incident and luckily we ve managed to find another restaurant where we could dine. Second day another friend came in town to join us we told him about the experience and he challenged us to give another try since we didn’t want to go to far and he wanted a steak. There we go the second time my girlfriend and I and my friend we walk in without reservation there was another girl at the door we told her about the unfortunate even with a night before and she was very king to get us a table, apologies for the inconvenience and assured us that that won’t happens again. We sat down within a minute a waitress came at the table she was very attentive took us the order we order by the way an appetizer to share morcilla and chorizo a bottle of Tempranillo which was quite nice and I shared a t bone with my girlfriend and my friend order the Pork ribs. By the time she finished taking our order another table came and sat right next to us. Within 10 min she took their order and to our surprise their drinks came before our bottle of wine it took about 15-20 min to get our wine. In about 20 minutes they received their appetizers I didn’t say nothing I was patient. But the critical moment came when the same table received their main courses steaks by the way and we were still waiting for our apetizers!!! By this time we were more than an our away since she took our order and I got pretty frustrated. Finally she bring our appetizer apologizing for the delay blaming it on the kitchen and then disappeared and we ve seen her again in like 25 minutes when she brought the main courses. Now a little about the food we ve order the meat was chewy good flavor thou but vary hard to eat and pork ribs were super dry and her response to that was that we should have ordered them to a rare side!!! PORK RIBS RARE!!! Is that even legal like really. Overall our experience was very far from pleasant and whoever is in charge of that place should pay good attention to the service and the quality of the food . Not...
Read moreI moved into the neighborhood several weeks ago and was planning to give La Biferia a try. Several times at weekends I walked past and the place was absolutely packed with a waiting line. They must be doing something right eh? I decided to go at an off time for a bit more relaxed experience so stopped in today, Monday at 4pm. A gracious young lady welcomed me with a smile. There were only two other customers so I picked one of the soft cushy bench seats. Everything went down hill from there. The music was pounding and the waiter was cold and remote without a trace of a welcoming smile. He seemed irritated that I asked him to repeat things because the loud music overpowered everything he said. Considering that the dining room was nearly empty I didn't think I should have to wait 40 minutes for my steak. When it came it was a little tough but at least it was juicy and cooked the way I ordered it which is unusual. The salad & rustic potatoes were pretty good but the waiter never came back to the table to inquire if I needed anything else. I don't mind paying for a steak if I leave feeling that my money was well spent. On the whole, the meal and the service were a disappointment. I won't go back. Still, if it's disappointing why is the place so crowded at weekends? Could it be that the customers in that area have little experience with fine dining and top cut steaks or did I happen to have a bad experience that was out of character for this neighborhood chain...
Read moreWe came in with a party of 7, including our 2 year old who was a bit crabby that day, stuff happens. Right from the start we were treated as an annoyance. Eye rolls, sighs, and general lack of service.
3 of us ordered the ribeye, it was just bad. There’s no other way to put it. There was no sear at all, no hints of salt being used, the meat was flavorless and tough. The mashed potatoes followed suit, tasting like they had been scooped from a pan that they were sitting in all day, they tasted like wet cardboard.
Finally, my girlfriend and I ordered a half bottle of Alamos wine, which was fantastic. However, the server got it in her head that we had ordered 2 bottles. The staff spent 15 minutes deliberating, and arguing with us, basically treating us like common thieves before finally relenting and taking the extra bottle off of our tab.
This establishment is the embodiment of a classist society, they are purely image. I’ve been to dive bars with better food AND better service to...
