I recently had the pleasure of visiting El Muelle restaurant, and the experience was simply fantastic. From the cozy atmosphere you can feel to the impeccable presentation of each dish, this place promises and delivers. To start, we tried a ceviche that was one for the books. You could tell the fish was fresh, marinated in just the right amount of lime and accompanied by thin strips of red onion and herbs that enhanced its flavor. Serving it with crispy plantain chips was the perfect touch for a vibrant and delicious appetizer. For the main course, the choice was a pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. The pasta was perfectly cooked, al dente, and the sauce covering it was rich and flavorful, with a generous amount of shrimp. The two slices of garlic bread that came with it were ideal for not leaving a single trace on the plate. And to end on a high note, the dessert was a true delight. A creamy dessert, which looked like a tiramisu or mousse, with a soft layer of cocoa powder and decorated with a fresh strawberry. It was the sweet and elegant end to a spectacular meal. In short, El Muelle is a highly recommended restaurant. The quality of its ingredients, the care in its preparation, and the attractive presentation of its dishes make it a mandatory stop for lovers of good food. I would not...
Read moreWe came to Cartagena to spend a month here and work from home. This restaurant became one of the best parts of our trip.
Most of all, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our favorite staff: Juan, Erick, and Jassir. They have worked tirelessly to make our vacation amazing. They remembered our favorite food, looked after us, and made us feel right at home at El Muelle.
When we only had 30 mins for lunch, they made sure to pack it to go. When we were in the water, they made sure to only bring the food when we got out so it wouldn't get cold.
We came here on the first day, but after that we came almost every day because these guys took such good care of us. THANK YOU!!!
Regarding the food, it was amazing. Super fresh seafood and juices. I think we tried pretty much everything on the menu. Their ceviches are sooooo good! I also appreciate that they were always willing to try modifications and make new dishes for me. For example, one of my new favorite dishes was grilled octopus with veggies and potatoes, which Erick helped me order every time I wanted because I do not speak Spanish well.
Regarding safety, this is a pretty secure beach - no complains here.
Anyway, I think the photos speak...
Read moreThis review is about their shower/bathroom facilities that ANYONE can use for the amount of 2,000 COP which is really a bargain.
But that was not the problem today, the problem is the employees who think they are taking advantage of tourists. There were two of us using the shower to wipe off sand from our feet, not a full shower and use the bathroom On the way out they wanted to charge 10,000 COP for this. I was going to complain and make an issue about it but decided to comply with their fee. However, we decided to formally bring the lack of honesty of two of the employees to the owner and that's what we did and also write this review. Which can harm more than the $2.50 dollars they advantagely took from "tourists" because we are not tourists, We're not locals either but spend some time during the year living in the city. So we know better. We decided to do this and let real tourists know to first, ask how much before ANY service and two, be aware of this type of people who takes advantage of others.
But don't stop coming to Cartagena or this restaurant, they are thriving to serve you...
