The coffee was fine, but I waited 30 minutes from the moment I actually ordered. So not counting the waiting in line. I almost couldn’t understand what was going on; and what I was supposed to do. Every minute that passed, my brain got more stuck on sunk-cost calculations. It just didn’t have the historical references to predict the waiting time that would eventually ensue. This particular coffeeshop operates on a completely different timescale than any place I had previously ordered coffee at. Game theory might have rescued me from wasting all this time, but I am not well-versed in game theory. Anyway, go get your coffee here if you have time to burn; and you don’t mind waiting a cool half hour in a heavily refrigerated place that screams ‘chain coffee shop’.
