I recently ate at espíritu Santo restaurant to indulge in one of the many of Colombian dishes, in this cases I decided to try the bandeja paisa . Unfortunately, my experience did not quite meet my expectations.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere felt a bit off. The servers seemed to be in a bad mood, which could possibly be attributed to the sweltering heat that day. A welcoming smile can make all the difference, and it was noticeably absent here.
Moving on to the food, I was quite disappointed with the bandeja paisa. The meat was not up to par; it had an off-putting taste that left much to be desired. As for the beans—arguably a cornerstone of this dish—they were bland to the point of being flavorless. Food that is supposed to be rich and hearty turned out to be a rather lackluster experience.
However, there was a bright spot on the menu: the coconut lemonade. It was incredibly refreshing and delicious, offering a sweet tropical twist that nearly made up for the shortcomings of the meal. I would go back just for that drink alone, but sadly, the rest of the dining experience did not live up to the...
Read moreGreat choice for dining in Cartagena. The food is very good. We had Sancocho, Ajiago, and Fried Fish. The service was really amazing as the food came out quickly, even though the restaurant was full. Our waitress checked in often and was very attentive and fulfilled our requests immediately, though she was managing many tables. Don't know how she did it. Food was hot and delicious. The portions were more than generous as the Ajiago came with rice, a complete chicken leg, and corn on a plate. Sancocho was similar, but with fish, not chicken. There was a short wait for a table, but it's well worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable. The drinks are also very good. Authentic Colombian dining experience in Cartagena,...
Read moreI came here after several people told me this place was one of the best restaurants in Cartagena and the first thing you need to know is that this place only accepts CASH as a form of payment. This is a really busy spot but service was quick, the food was good quality and at a good price. Every plate comes with a side salad, 2 sides and the soup of the day. I would recommend trying this place at least once but i wasn’t convinced this place was one of the best restaurants in Cartagena as others had told me because i tried other local spots for much less money and it was just as good if not better. Overall i would definitely come back if i’m ever in...
