Hotel Don Pedro De Heredia — Hotel in Cartagena

We arrived early and the hotel took our luggage so we could explore Cartagena a bit. Check-in was a breeze and the staff very helpful with questions about getting around, a map, etc. Our room, 504, was small, as they all are, but had a comfortable king bed and ice-cold air conditioning. The A/C actually got too cold at night and we used the remote to dial it up to a comfortable level. The bathroom is very small and you can rest your forehead against the wall in front of the toilet. But don't let that be a negative-you get used to it fast. The water was hot and the shower had adequate space. We liked our room. The safe worked well and help everything we needed it too. The door is just an old-fashioned key on a keychain-not a swipe card. We just left the key at the front desk while we were out of the hotel-they were happy to hold on to it for us. Breakfast was on the top floor outdoors (covered) and gave great views of the city. It was tasty and the eggs to order were great. Lots of selection and great Colombian soup. Location was great-fairly central in the walled city, close to plazas, Getsemani, etc. Very fast walk to Clock Tower Gate, where you enter Getsemani pr catch a taxi for $2 to $3 to the castle or Bocagrande. They also arranged our airport taxi for departure and the taxi was actually 15 minutes early. A mere $4.50 and 15...

A terrible experience. Since arrival at 11am, I was told I wouldn’t be given my room until 4pm (way past a regular check in time). Three other parties arrived later than I did and were checked in. I know because I travelled with them. The service was aloof and no one knew what they were doing. I asked for a bathroom to change since I wouldn’t be able to check in and had a wedding lunch and they were hesitant to help me with one. They had no ironing services, but were nice enough to charge me $10 for ironing a pant and shirt (honestly given I wouldn’t be able to iron it myself I was OK with this). The room smelled like fresh paint thinner and smoke. The towels and pillows had such a strong cigarette smell. The windows had curtains poorly place and left the room and bathroom exposed to anytime passing outside 24/7 and had no fix. The shower was under a structure from the building and you the showerhead was on my face. I’m not tall (5,7). The fridge was broken and kept melting. I called twice and never came in. I kept on falling and slipping, and my room had towels on the floor in the entire state. They didn’t even know where I could get something to eat or grab a coffee nearby. The area around the hotel is ugly. There seem to be random people coming in and out of the property at all times. I would never recommend this...

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Cartagena with a courtyard inside that looks like a botanical garden. When I booked the hotel, I was a little worried after reading some not entirely positive reviews, but I do not regret staying here for three nights, especially since other hotels have more negative reviews. |And  here is my conclusion. Great hotel with air conditioner in the room, swimming pool and rooftop which i really like. The staff is very friendly, some of them speak english, especially Juan David. This young guy speaks good english, he is very helpful and erudite. The other guys also left good impressions: Antony, Gustavo, Nilsa, Oscar |The breakfast here is great, you feel like you are in a cafe, they will prepare food for you to order. The dining room is located on the fifth floor with a view of the city.  I read that some guests had complaints about the noise from the street. Guys, if you want to live in a quiet place, then you need to book a hotel on the outskirts of the city, but here in the very center and on the busiest street, do not expect that there will be silence. My room was inside  with a window to the courtyard, and there was no noise from the street. |I give them five stars, and I really hope that the management will encourage their employees who try their best.|And of course I recommend this boutique hotel.|----|Замечательный отель в самом сердце Картахены с двориком внутри похожим на ботанический сад.Когда я буковал отель то немного переживал прочитав несколько не совсем позитивных отзывов, но я не жалею что остановился здесь на три ночи, тем более что у других отелей больше негативных отзывав.И вот моё заключение.Отличный отель с кондиционером в комнате, бассейном и rooftop, что мне очень нравится.Персонал очень дружелюбный, часть из них говорит по-английски, особенно Хуан.Этот молодой парень хорошо говорит по-английски, он очень отзывчив и эрудирован.Другие парни тоже оставили хорошие впечатления: Antony, Gustavo, Nilsa, Oscar |Завтрак здесь замечательный, вы чувствуете будто находитесь в кафе, они приготовят вам еду на заказ.Столовая расположена на пятом этаже с видои на город. Я читал что некоторые постояльцы имели жалобы на шум с улицы.Ребята, если вы хотите жить в тихом месте то вам нужно буковать отель на окраине города, но здесь в самом центре и на самой оживлённой улице не ожижайте что будет тишина.Моя комната была внутри с окном во внутренний двор, и не было слышно никакого шума с улицы.Я ставлю им пять звёзд, и конечно я рекомендую этот отель|----- |Un maravilloso hotel en el corazón de Cartagena con un patio interior que parece un jardín botánico.  Cuando reservé el hotel, estaba un poco preocupado después de leer algunas críticas no del todo positivas, pero no me arrepiento de quedarme aquí por tres noches, especialmente porque otros hoteles tienen críticas más negativas.|Y aquí está mi conclusión.  Gran hotel con aire acondicionado en la habitación, piscina y azotea que me gusta mucho.  El personal es muy amable, algunos hablan inglés, especialmente Juan.  Este joven habla bien inglés, es muy servicial y erudito.  Los otros chicos también dejaron buenas impresiones: Antony, Gustavo, Nilsa, Oscar |El desayuno aquí es excelente, te sientes como si estuvieras en un café, te prepararán comida para que la pidas.  El comedor está ubicado en el quinto piso con vista a la ciudad.  Leí que algunos huéspedes se quejaron del ruido de la calle.  Chicos, si quieren vivir en un lugar tranquilo, deben reservar un hotel en las afueras de la ciudad, pero aquí, en el centro y en la calle más concurrida, no esperen que haya silencio.  Mi habitación era interior con ventana al patio y no se oía el ruido de la calle.|Les doy cinco estrellas, y realmente espero que la gerencia anime a sus empleados a dar lo mejor de sí mismos.|Y por supuesto...
