This place is small and homey. The service is friendly, but the food is TOO SALTY. We went there twice out of convenience. The first time we went, my eggs were overly salty so I specifically asked for no salt. Unfortunately, they came out saltier than the first time.
If you're looking for a 24 hour spot to eat, then this is an option, but if your looking for high quality food, I recommend you go somewhere else ... Anywhere else.
They also charge extra for everything. You want milk with your coffee? 3,000 extra. It's not much, but it's the principle. Additionally, the coffee comes as an espresso shot but the milk is given to you in a mug without a spout to pour into your coffee causing milk to spill all over the table.
The "manager", Camilo came out to speak to us regarding the salty eggs. He was more confrontational than apologetic. He accepted my recommendation to serve the extra milk in a container with a spout to avoid spills. He even stated that he's received request for milk with coffee by many tourists but somehow never figured out that serving milk in a mug for a smaller coffee cup was an issue.
If you're a business that caters to tourists, then why wouldn't you listen to feedback that tourists are giving you? Getting defensive isn't going to help your business. Camilo, learn from...
Read moreService was awful. Food was cold and not tasty. No one came to take our order within the first 8 to 10 minutes after being seated. The place was not busy as there were many empty tables and some servers were standing by the register. When we finally got a waitress we ordered everything at once. The food took forever to make it to our table. We ordered two arepas, one with shredded beef the other with shrimp. Both arepas were cold, we didn’t bother to tell the server. We also ordered a plate of patacon (fried plantains) with chicken and shredded beef. That plate was also cold and was flavorless. I was still eating when a server comes to our table asking to retrieve plates. Mind you I’m still eating the patacon dish, she started retrieving plates without us telling her it was ok to do so. We asked for the check before she was gone with the plates because we already knew how slow they were working. Once we received the check I immediately walked to the register to pay. I was done waiting. Would not recommend. You will be better off eating from a street vendor they’re faster and make the whole thing fresh in...
Read moreEverything here is freshly made and very tasty. Outstanding arepas. There young lady working the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. She had a very pleasant, sunny personality. Prices are reasonable for the area. The quality of food matched or bettered the cost. There menus are in Spanish but if you have a rudimentary understanding you will be fine. Depending on who is working when you are there they may or may not speak English. The restaurant is on the small side so there is not an abundance of seating. It is at the intersection of two of the quieter streets in the area. This is a good thing. You are not accosted by street vendors nor do you have blaring music or people yelling to contend with. Go and enjoy a meal. You will be...
