Colo Cocina Argentina - Steakhouse — Restaurant in Medellín

Let's face it, if you're going to an Argentine steakhouse, chances are you're going for lomo (solomito). I tried to reassure my girlfriend that we could still enjoy other cuts despite Colo Cocina not having the main thing you'd go for, but turns out I was wrong. The waitress, for all her fake politeness, was either not interested or capable of serving what we wanted. I asked for a glass of water to go with my drink, she brought a bottle. I clarified, with a Spanish native back-up, that I wanted a glass, with ice, not an extra charge for her. She ignored the request, twice. We asked her for the steakhouse's description of temperatures, to be sure there was no miscommunication. Despite this, my medium-rare steak came out "blue" style. My girlfriend getting fed up at this point, insisted on it being brought up to temp... instead, they butterflied it and cooked it through. The problems go on, from lack of attention to lack of knowledge. The end result is it was clear to me why I never hear this place mentioned on lists of the nice restaurants for an evening...

They say for a restaurant to be successful you need 3 things: Quality Service And At a reasonable Price.

I've lived in Buenos Aires Argentina... The " Colo Cocina " is Fantasticly Authentic. The Empanadas are oven baked like a Pastry..not a drop of Grease! As you take your first bite into a Plump Pastry filled with goodness. Served with the famous Chimichurri.

I ordered the pork Ribs 300+ gms A generous portion tender, sticky and sweet,..with a side of mango salad and "Puree de papas". A " Full" Glass of house Wine was as good as anything you'd order for double the price .. delicious at $3+ USD.

. My server and attention was always a few steps away should I need anything ready to fullfil my request.

They are only 3 weeks since opening there Doors. But ..I 100+% encourage you to get there before they are discovered!

Took over an hour and fourty five minutes and three separate complaints then threatening to leave before our food came out. Our drinks came out after our food and they were horrible. We didn't even finish them. We ordered things, were told they couldn't complete it because they did not have all the necessary ingredients, then they still charged us for those items. The medium cooked steak could probably still have mooed it was so raw. We waited so long for everything to come out that I thought they had to go catch the salmon. This place was easily the worst service and worst food I have ever had in any restaurant in any country. And that is coming from someone who lived in Italy and England. I 0/10 would definitely...
