I’m usually very quiet about reviewing but sometimes it’s hard not to. I’m glad so many people have been able to give this place such high rating and I’m so sorry I can’t do the same. My husband, sister and I were there today for breakfast and I chose the place based on the excellent reviews. First of all, the smoothie I had was delicious! Unfortunately, besides that, my experience was pretty bad… my husband only had coffee and my sister had a coffee and a cheese bread stick. I was the only one actually trying to have a breakfast. Well, my eggs were nasty, my waffle was tiny(VERY) served with NOTHING. I asked for at least a little bit of syrup which came 20 minutes later to the table because the server, of course, had already forgotten about it and when she finally saw me from the distance, she remembered… my tiny waffle was already cold and kind of hard… She brought me the syrup in a very tiny ceramic cup (pretty much to match the size of the waffle) and of course, no apology was made about the delay. As I was about to pour the syrup on the waffle, I felt it COLD! Seriously? Cold, hard tiny waffle with freezing cold syrup? At this point my breakfast consisted of three undercooked eggs all with burnt edges and one of them had something black embedded inside its yolk that looked like a large speck of dirt or a mosquito; and of course, the waffle ordeal… I asked the girl if she could please put the little bit of syrup in the microwave? She looked at me as if the request sounded “weird” to her and hesitated but still took the tiny cup to the kitchen and asked a young guy to heat it up; I over heard him saying “how am I suppose to warm that up?” I didn’t say anything but I thought “what? 10 to 15 seconds in the microwave.. is it really that hard?” He ended up figuring out how to do it though 🙄 so the girl brought it back and also brought a clean small plate and asked me to give her the egg with the black speck back since I had told her I wouldn’t eat it. They took that egg off of the bill but charged me for that little bit of syrup separate! As pathetic as this breakfast experience was for me; yes, I still paid my bill with the service/tip included. These kids are sweet but clearly just not well trained by the company. Such shame. NO, I WILL...
Read moreOverall a very horrible experience, I went up to the bar section because I just wanted to order a quick pastry to go. I asked for the menu and was told that I had to sit. I sat for about 10 minutes without anyone coming to me so much so that my wife left to the hotel next door and I would stay back to order. I decide to go back to the front and see if o can order to go just incase they didn’t hear me right and they said please sit back down and someone will be with you. Maybe another 15 minutes pass and finally the server comes. After discussing what would be the quickest thing I could order I decided on 2 Croissants to go. The server said ok I’ll have them pack it up for you, I once gain waited for over 5 - 10 minutes just for 2 croissants to go and meanwhile the server was also bad mouthing other customers. There was a point he told the kitchen staff …. Please do not worry about what happens out here “meaning the seating area” if they have to wait they will wait or they can leave. He was referring to other customers being served. Since I saw this negative attitude and lack of appreciation from the staff. I decided to walk up and leave and told the waiter please cancel my order and he said ok without any other care in the world no apologies or anything. Hija Mía management staff I’m not sure if business is so great that you allow your staff to take for granted customers coming. I highly suggest you retrain the gentleman that helped me that day. I came on February 21st,...
Read moreGreat coffee but the salmon bagel was only okay, barely any cream cheese and it wasn’t even a bagel - a soft roll instead that wasn’t great and quite dry. It came with no salad or anything on the side so I was still hungry after. I thought it was very pricey too, nearly €11 for a bagel and a coffee. I found it hard to relax and enjoy my lunch as the staff were literally screeching at each other and screaming over the absolutely blaring music. I just came away with a headache. I was contemplating a brownie but I had to leave as it felt so chaotic. When I went to pay the staff basically saw me and just ignored me while stood chatting amongst themselves and I was just standing looking at them. I was the only customer left so this is pretty unacceptable and just rude. The male waiter was friendly but the female staff weren’t and they add 10% tip to the bill despite me having to go up to the till to both order and pay and no one bothering to clear my plates away or speak to me once I ordered. There are lots of other nicer coffee shops in the area with friendly staff so I’d give...
